C.O.R.N group ideas for winter.

Hey all just looking to make a list of things we may want to do this Winter. Give me your ideas....Not sure how I am going to organize them but we will just see how creative I can be.

I will start.
Would love to get the group together for some racing action when this place opens.
Velocity Kart Track

I like the Kart Track idea - I have a few thoughts as well:

Let's get together for the 2008 Midlands Autoshow, January 24-27....hang out, look at the cars, etc. (we might even luck out with an early Clubman at the show)

A little harder to plan (due to weather), but we could drive around checking out some of the holiday lighted neighborhoods.

Anythings good with me, I just love getting all the MINI's together in one spot.

That Christmas Light tour thing is a good idea!! That Go Cart track place would be cool. Anyone Bowl?? we could get like a bowling night going. Or we could rent a party room at a resteraunt and have a group dinner and gift exchange like less then 20$ Gifts. We also have Dave and Busters that could be fun also

A mid-December Christmas parade through some well-dressed neighborhoods followed with some hot chocolate would be fun.

I don't have any of my own ideas yet but everything that's been mentioned sounds great.

Oh, if interested, my house is one of the houses in Omaha area that my Christmas lights are computer controlled. I have just under 112 channels running the lights and they should be up this weekend (weather permitting, they are temper mental in the rain). 1309 Childs Rd. East, Bellevue (behind SouthRoads Mall). I should have around 9-10 different songs this year. Here is an example of my last year show.

I had my Winter Blizzaks installed this last friday, I guess I could have gone further w/o them but didnt have to worry about them. I had them installed by Jenson Tire, I dont know if they have a lincoln location

my bald stock s lights worked fine last year. Only got stuck when we got 15 inches of snow in march and that was because I had to stop on a hill. But my gold rims are taller 18's and fatter and ride really rough so I opted for snow tires a little extra security. I don't have to worry about potholes or the finish of my wheels or about bending the rim. And I will get better traction with a more narrow wheel.

I also enjoy it when I see a nice car in the winter with steelies and snow tires. Something about it being a daily driver but the guy taking care of it. Last year my neighbor had an audi quatro coup with black steelies. He drove it quite abit. To bad his wife made him park it in the street so she could put her honda in the driveway. You gotta put your foot down on stuff like that.

Oh this is a winter thread........um. Build snowmen/snowforts and have a snowball fight at the MINI dealer. That would be fun.

We could just go there and do it without the dealer knowing. Hilarious fun.

I'm sure we would find out sooner or later. LOL! If you guys need a place to hang out let me know, once again this is Steve Gilmore. Can't say the dealerships name I guess but you know where we are. My cell is 402-578-4598 if you all want to plan something. It's getting boring around here.

Still planning on something. I was planning on going to Omaha this weekend. Just don't know what the weather is going to do this weekend. Still running my summer tires so driving in Omaha may be a problem. Would others be interested in getting together this weekend or maybe next for dinner or something?

Zyamfier, what sort of "summer tires" are you running? My last car came stock with Michelin Pilot Sports (maximum performance tire category) and a 1/2" of snow made things pretty scary (ABS was going nuts, almost slid into a curb), once I got the snows on though, it was night and day. If you're running the all seasons, you should be fine, as we're only getting about an inch or two.

YES! something like that..... Funny, no one seemed to even try to power out of that slide. The best was the people jumping out of the car.

This one is good too

Needless to say we will just have to see what it looks like in the morning. I am not sure the big O is on my list for travel destinations.

Thankfully, winter is almost over... With the March driving events starting to be set up I am taking the sticky off this thread so that we can keep things a bit more organized at the top of the forum.
