It's so quiet.....

...too quiet in CORN country.

What's everyone doing?

Where's everyone at?

It's a bit early to be hibernating already.

I thought so too. I have been doing the following.

Working. The next 5 weeks are in the top 10 bussiest of the year. Corprate Xmas Parties.

Getting ready for winter. I bought snow tires and have to do a oil and gearbox fluid change. New belt too.

My birthday is this tuesday, im gonna detail in the morning.

I have worked it out with my boss, next summer if we want to everyone can come to a show at the funnybone for free. Of course thats if I'm still around, lots of other clubs want me to run/fix their kitchens.

On Friday, my blizzaks are going on, and i am also going in for my 10,000 mile warrenty work.

also is in normal for breaks to squeal?? not just the occasional sqeak, i mean a full on squeal, like pulling up at a stop light and from 10 mph to full stop they sound like a 1980's truck, Are they just bad stock breaks? or should i have them look at it?

James,
Mine did squeal a bit around the 10K mark but nothing that could be called real bad. I would let Kim know about it when you take it in. She will make sure that it is looked at.

get goin and slam them really hard. City driving can imbed stuff in them that can make them noisy.

yeah I had a horrid squeal the other day.....oh man was it bad....so high pitch and whiny.....but I just got the MINI up to speed and slammed on the brakes and yeah it got rid of the squeal....I also heard that you should do that in reverse as that will help get the squeaks out.

And crap that reminds me I need to buy some winter tires.....Hopefully it won't snow too soon.....I'm predicting end of January sometime...

...just checking in

I haven't posted in a while. Winston is ready for winter this year. I picked up a set of 17" Sport Edition E3's with Pirelli Snow Sport tires from the Tire Rack. Then I installed some "S" Center Caps from Aesthetic Creations. The wheels make the car look much more aggressive than the OEM S-Lites. So I think we're good to go. The OEM Goodyear all-seasons weren't good at all in the snow. We pretty much didn't even drive it in the snow last year, except for the Markel grand opening party in early March.

Very cool - I got a set of those exact wheels and new Blizzak's for mine - only they're 15's. Looks like I'll be putting them on in the next week or so...I'll post some pics.

Yeah, it seems we always get hit with snow right around Thanksgiving. We'll be ready ths year! I probably should've gone with smaller wheels and tires with taller sidewalls to absorb all the chuckholes....but what the heck, 4-5 months is a long time to go without 17's. We'll just have to be extra careful!
