Good Price and Unit? (K&N Intake)

K&N 69 Typhoon Intake

does this seem like a good price and a good unit? for me, the bit thing is sound....cause I know im really not getting a difference with a 1 or 3HP gain so as long as it sounds nice and isnt a pos unit, it seems like a good $60 cheaper then other sites

Just my opinion

I'm not sure how you figure it's so much cheaper. Between the $138 price and the $30 shipping, there are plenty of intakes out there made by outstanding companies (not that K&N isn't) for $165.00

If this is the intake you want, then by all means, I'd say go get it. BUT, if you're making a buy decision based on saving money, I don't think you're really accomplishing your objective.

I don't have an intake, and like yourself, I'm considering buying one. My choice is to get the best quality one I can get (at least best quality in my mind). If that means I need to save up some more $ to do it, then I will.

I've never heard anybody say they bought the K&N intake for their MINI. Maybe it's the best one out there. Anyone?

POWER to the MINI's!!!!

For the MC...the $5.00 E-bay unit is the same as all the other vendors out there. The unit consists of a mandrel bent 90% tube and a filter. You really want to get scammed for $150 or more. I sure don't. But, I did pay $50 for mine I feel real retarded for doing so. Get the ebay one.

How about sending us a link to it. I've never seen a $5 e-bay unit. I've not seen a $50 unit either. This unit we've been discussing is $168.00 including shipping. If there's a $5 alternative I'm sure we'd like to know about it.

Thanks

Since the MC has a short ram stock, I was able to just buy a K&N replacement filter and just stick it on the end. The only thing I'm concerned about is the heat from the engine at a stop light, probably not so great for the performance, but whatever I can launch the car pretty well now so it doesnt really matter..

I always figured that the same K&N was about $200 on other sites and then add shipping. Is there other units you guys recommend because yea, like you I would rather spend $50 more and just get a better unit too. I just dont know too many places to order from. I know Mossmini, and like 2 other sites and thats about it

Well...here was the FIRST one that popped up when you did a SEARCH on ebay for MINI COOPER INTAKE. Well...It is .01 with a $20 shipping fee. So, I guess I was wrong it's $20...lol but I have seen them for $5 total. That is it for the construction of the intake. Lokks exactly like mine

I don't know the reliability of the website but this is what I have been eyeing for a while...

K&N Intake

Let me know what you decide on because I'm in the same boat.
