Yeah, the driver is okay. He had a passenger in the car as well, it's common in Drifting to take passengers who are seeking advice in their driving. The passenger went to the hospital after having a bit of whiplash and just being shaken up. He's fine though, he left before we could visit him in the hospital that night.

The strange thing, the driver wasn't even wearing his seatbelt.. and he came out okay. What are the chances?! He's okay.. everyone's okay. So it's fine. Cars can be replaced... or in this case fixed. So we're happy for the most part.

That looked painful. Was there a mechanical failure? It looked like there was simply no effort to correct. I particularly enjoyed the people walking along who didn't even seem to be bothered by a car hitting a tree.

It was an accident... that's all I can say. The car was managed and maintained at highest standards so there was no mechanical failure. I gotta agree.. didn't it look like he was going straight for that tree?! There was an effort to correct.. just... too little-too late.

Yeah, the people behind the tree looked as if they were sayin.. "Lets get outta here before the cops show up."

Yeah, it's my job to fix it now. The car, not the tree.

The burnt tip looks like something I used to work on for hours to try to remove from the exhaust of my motorcycle.

I don't think I'll have the Titanium tip. During shipping it sometimes can take a hit and come loose and rattle. So I think for quality and durability sake no on the Tip.

Well, since no one answered me the first time, would Megan Racing be willing to offer one of these single sided "Cooper style" exhausts for an S? I like everything that I see, I just am sick of modifiying exhausts for a Cooper to work on my S.

I have to agree. I've never liked that look -- one of the reasons I could never bring myself to buy the Invidia system for the MCS.

Berky, only on your HB/HB will I tolerate those tips -- they look like they were made for your car's color.

now we are talking I agree on that, looks killer on HB, would not go with the PW, but i am looking at the catback from a performance and quality perspective rather than looks, which is important too. Hope to see ya soon Robert

What type of Mods do you have to do to make it fit, I wonder?

And due to overwhelming responce... there will be a Titanium tip....

JUST KIDDING!! Don't kill me.

No Burnt Tip for this exhaust. We should be recieving the hard prototype for this product in about 30-45 days. I wanna post a soundclip when it gets in, but does anyone know how I'd go about doing that? I can make AVI files but they're HUGE. Does anyone know how to bring the size down? Let me know guys, thanks.

Well, the hangars are different on the two cars.

very different, lol.

they are close enough that you could just reposition them on the muffler and change the bends on the hangars to get one to fit, but im not too fond of cutting TIGed on hangars off of a stainless muffler.

Look at the realoem site and you will see how they are different.

I'm new to this site, but I like where Megan is going thus far. Well, except for the slash tip, but that won't keep me from buying a good system!

I have a base Dyno run that was done a couple of years ago. Stock 2002 MC, except for a MiniMania flat panel filter.

MTH Tuner file installed a few months ago. After another Dyno run, hopefully this spring, I will be ready for an exhaust system.

I have a couple of questions that I didn't see addressed:

1. Are Mandrel bends used on the exhaust pipe?

2. Will before/after Dyno runs be posted for the test car?

Thanks for thinking of us MC owners

Bob

I'll take my laptop with me when I go in next time. (Or maybe just my videocam, I can rip the sound file off that.)

hello everyone, I am a newbie to NAM. Just purchased my Mini non-S two months ago. What is the status of the Megan cat-back exhaust for the MC non 'S'?

What do you guys feel about a group purchase?

How did I miss this reply?! Anyway, sorry for the delay. All of our exhaust products use Mandrel bends you will never see a crush bend in any of our Exhaust.

I have to check with the Prototype MC to see if he'd be willing to do a Dyno Run. However, I am pretty sure he isn't stock as it is and may have other mods that can otherwise throw the Dyno results.

This is the boring part of development.. the wait time. We're just waiting for the Hard Prototype to come in so that we can do a Fitment before starting to Produce the Exhaust. Expect another two months from this point though.

What I'd like to see is a successfully done dual exhaust for the Cooper. Remus did it, but you had to cut the plastic trim that fits on the rear valence. There is a company in Britain that did this, and they included a new piece of plastic trim with the exhaust. If this exhaust is done right it will not cause the car to lose power, plus the tips coming out the far sides of the car look better than the dual exhaust tip jutting out the center on a Cooper S.

Thanks for the reply.

Good to hear that the bends are mandrel type.

Even an after dyno run would be helpful. Especially if the HP/Torque curves could be attached.

A couple of months wait will fit my schedule.
