Blown speaker-Replacement help!

Hi everyone,

It was a sad day yesterday when I blew out my mini cooper 2008 hardtop speaker ): ...Has anyone here had experience with buying after market replacement speakers? If so please help me out with some recommendations. I blew out the front bottom speaker. What size fits here?

Thanks so much :D!

Hi Britt,

Might be able to swing by an electronic store and speak with someone on the floor about some good speaker options. Maybe some that can handle a bit more oomph so they don't blow as easily. My car is an '04 so I've had a few different sets of aftermarket speaks in it. Always just went this route as it was the easiest as far as getting the right ones with better quality. Just as a reference for brands, check them out here. Bose, JBL, Alpine, and Pioneer are great brands. Good luck!

IMO... Just go to Crutchfield... enter in your car and they have great recommendations and prices and AWESOME customer service from my experiences with them over the last 20 years. They provide full installation manuals, and even on phone support.... a plus in my book... I buy from them even though there are some vendors that might be a few bucks less expensive.

JBL, Alpine, Pioneer or Kicker. Best Buy charges $60.00 to install a set of speakers, and they are sold in pairs. They have some pretty decent ones for under $100.00. So, for about $150.00, they can hook you up. My 2015 Justa has 4 inch speakers in the doors. Thankfully, they are fine for now, especially since I just had an amp and a subwoofer installed to make the system sound better. Because, as we all know, “it’s all about the bass, bout the bass, bout the bass.....” 🤪
