Navigation & Audio Replacement for a blown speaker
Replacement for a blown speaker
Hi. I recently had the OEM head unit in my 2002 Mini replaced with a Sony CDX-GT420U and during the process the Auto electrician discovered that the right [driver side for me] lower speaker is blown. I've looked through some posts here and I get the idea that perhaps the original speakers aren't the best. I'm therefore looking to source an aftermarket replacement but I do not want to go the whole hog and replace the entire system as it suits me fine otherwise [I've faded out that speaker for the moment] and I'm currently paying off the car. The speakers I am seeing on my searches are all 2-way speakers, however, I've read the current speakers are 1-way. I'd like to know whether or not I can simply use a pair of good 2-ways to replace both front lower speakers. Cheers.

I've looked at a few other avenues and one person recommended these; http://dls.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_67
Do you have the non HK or the HK system? (Harmon Kardon)
Driverside front?
I just replaced a non HK front stock speakers with an Alpine Type R component set. Sounds alot better and did not fork out big bucks.

I'm not sure if it's HK or not, how do I tell?
Also, I had some trouble getting those so I went with an Infinity set;
