LSD on R56 MC

Hi! I've search a lot and i didn't find anything on adding an LSD on the standard 6Spd transmission of the MC

Can I swap an MCS transmission completely or just add an Quaife or OBX LSD, i'm new to Mini world but i'm very happy with my MC but I feel like it's missing an LSD

thanks!
Sam

I believe you can just swap out the stock diff for an LSD, but lots of guys wait until they want to upgrade or replace the clutch due to the labor. It's a big job that involves lowering the subframe from the car (so I'm told).

You can just add in a Quaife or OBX or Giken LSD. It replaces your current open diff. But Like Dr. Fox said, it's an expensive thing to have done. If your car is pretty new it may be worth it if you really want it but if you have a lot of miles on it consider upgrading/replacing the clutch too while you're in there.

I had a Quaife installed when I replaced my clutch. I can understand why you want a real mechanical LSD. It makes a big difference.

I don't believe it will make a big difference on a non-S.

Reviving an old thread here I know. But can anyone tell me how they put a Quaiffe or other brand of LSD into a non-S R56 Gbox?

From my research Quaife only do an LSD for the MCS, not the Cooper. Or was this something they did make back when this thread was started, but don't make now?

I've searched and searched but can't find anyone who makes an LSD for the R56 Cooper Manual Box.
