Seafoam OBX Header Video Clip

Seafoamed the motor this weekend and made a video clip. The car had 87K miles on it now. I have been running a aftermarket drop in filter and a OBX header for the last 65K miles. Noticed it was idling rough at stoplight. Decided to give the seafoam a shot before I put it in for service. Followed the direction on the can, and this is how it came out. Motor is idling much better now.

I can tell your foot was getting tired toward the end

But great footage and glad to hear the seafoam helping out. I'm quite impressed with the tone output difference with the OBX header against factory. IIRC, switching out the factory headers for the ones on your car also removes the catalytic converter, is that right? Should be quite a performance gain there if it is the case.

Thanks, I could not be any happier with it. I'm running a stock resonator and stock rear muffler with a drop in air-filter with the baffles removed. It has some drone and little raspy but not too loud. It does crack an pop at 2200 rpm during shifts when the motor is warming up.

I have not driven a stock Mini for 3+ Years. I cannot say I can tell a difference. I put a DDM intake back in the other day. I made a sheet metal shroud that sealed the underside and back side of the box then wrapped it in hear resistant tape/foil. The motor seem to be more resistant to heat soak when Im in traffic on the way home. Picture shows the header nicely too.

Was that your video? I saw that when I was looking to figure out how to do it, and didn't find it informative at all. You just showed the smoke coming out of the tail pipe, you didn't show what was done or how it was done, just the end results, take that in mind the next time you produce a video to help others.

^That's a little harsh? He never said the video was a how-to.

If you want help with something, just make a new thread and ask a question.
