Exhaust Headers for Non-S

I have been searching on NAM for what Exhaust Headers are available for 2nd Generation R56s (Non S). Through my search, I have only come across 3 out there:

OBX
http://www.obxracingsports.com/products.php?pk=1770

Megan Racing
http://www.meganracing.com/product_d...d=1121&catid=8

SuperSprint
http://www.supersprintna.com/product...earch_model/99

Now there is a major step up in price between OBX or Megan Racing and SuperSprint. Does anyone have any opinion/personal experience on these or know of any other companies that make Exhaust headers for 2nd Gen R56s (Non S)? I have seen some posts about OBX and Megan Racing Headers but for older Minis.

One thing I noticed was that only the OBX is street legal.

I think they are all street legal and they just write that to cover there *** (not sure though). I had my friend look at them and he owns his own shop and does inspections and said they would all pass.

A lot of parts would pass inspection (I've been looking into getting a new intake or exhaust for my 2011 non-s and while some i looked at would pass inspection they're not legal), but they may not be legal for other reasons, some parts may also be in the process of becoming legal or gone through that. I have a few questions though. JD Wagner if they're not legal, most likely they're not because they haven't gone through the testing to become legal or they haven't passed it, or haven't gone through it yet.

1. would the OBX fit my 2011 mini non-s
2. where does it say its street legal

Legality is going to depend on where you're at - not possible to make a blanket statement like that. In California they're not going to be legal unless they're CARB certified. Where I'm at I'm fairly certain they'd be legal as long as all the emissions controls (EGR) are kept in place, which both the OBX and SuperSprint appear to, and they don't cause the engine to throw a code (see no reason why they would).

Other factor in determining legality would be if there is an increase in loudness, depending on any noise restrictions your municipality might have.

It's fairly common practice for aftermarket performance part manufacturers to indicate a part as "off road use only" just to cover their *****.

Good finds, although the 2nd one posted appears to be for 1st gen. Someone get one of these and actually put their car on a dyno to see if they make any difference in performance!

One thing to note of the headers listed is that the Megan is for the R50. The price on the OBX isn't bad, but there is no way I'd spend the money Super Sprint is asking considering the small gains you would achieve.

Just curious, are there any dyno charts posted of these headers?

VIP customs also make an exhaust system for 11' Justas.! Actually they make 2. One is just a snap-on from the second cat. And the other one is a full exhaust. The whole system is like 600$ check it out.

I have a guy in DFW who does AWESOME work for miatas...I've bought a downpipe from him. He's going to fab up an exhaust for the 2011 Mini I'm working on...

I'll post pics when we make it but I predict it will be at the end of the year.

I also noticed today the OEM manifold goes to a V-Band clamp...might be easy to just to a header back and delete the 2nd cat
