Exhaust tips on each sides with Lumma rear bumper

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me out?

I have the rear Lumma bumper coming soon that has exhaust on each side of the rear bumper. I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of exhaust the Lumma bumper use? What is the brand and part numbers?

I have found an exhaust from Borla, but not sure what is the different between those two part numbers in this site:

http://www.borla.com/products/cat-ba...app_id=1387874
Part # 140027
Part # 140035

I know these are for the "S" cooper exhaust with the middle tips, but just curious if I just modify to have the pipes straight out on each side of the bumper and will it work?

Would a Mini Cooper Clubman dual exhaust work for our R50 cars?

This image of the borla exhaust design website is what I am looking for: http://sportcompactonly.com/Mini/Coo...4881_v-158.htm

Does anyone know what size the tips of the borla is? I couldn't find any information on it.

Last, if running dual exhaust mufflers, did you have to remove the spare tire and was there any successful running the dual mufflers with the spare tire?

Let me know thanks.

I went and looked up Lumma since I've never heard of them, and it looks like they make their own exhaust system to fit their bumper. So you might be better off just getting that or going to a muffler shop and getting a custom one done, which should be much cheaper.

Such mods are pretty rare on a R50 around here, so might be a bit hard finding help on that.

I'm sure you'll find more info if you check european Mini forums.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I find it hard to find information for the Mini R50 with dual mufflers. You are right, it looks like I will have to get a custom exhaust fitting.

Does anyone know, what is the part numbers for the Cooper "S" Magnaflow mufflers is and the straight middle pipe? I am not talking about the complete Magnaflow kits.

Has anyone successfully installed dual mufflers with the spare tire?

Please let me know thanks.

Okay, I did some measuring yesterday under my Mini. It looks like that the Cooper "S" Magnaflow mufflers will not work, because there is not enough room to install the muffler on the driver side where the spare tire is in the way. Is a very tight spot. Why on earth is the spare tire not in the middle and is far closer to the driver side.

I was looking around for other exhausts and it looks like the "oval" muffler will work. So I am not sure of the measurement of the Borla race and the Invidia Ti N1 mufflers are. I can't find a link that only sells the Invidia Ti N1 mufflers only. The Invidia's site company told me that they only sell it as a kit and not separated parts. Does anyone know where I can find the mufflers only?

Are there any other good brands with oval mufflers that are louder than stock?

Let me know thanks.

I looked at chambered mufflers and that would be another option to go with and would give better clearance....I think.

Has anyone run chambered muffler in the middle or dual chambered mufflers? Will it work and would it gain hp and nice sound? I heard is a really nice sound but have not heard it on a MC or MCS.

Let me know thanks.

I got the Chambered exhausts installed on my car.

I am not happy the way that they set it up without letting me know.

I told them that I wanted the two small chamber exhausts to be at the rear exits, but they installed the three exhausts in a straight line in the middle before going into a "Y" pipe.

I am not sure if I gained horsepower or torque, I feel that I have lost torque. Does anyone know?

Also, the car is way too loud. What can I do to solve the problem? Would a dual exhaust resonator 3" tips help?

Let me know thanks.

Well you could have saved alot of money by not puting in that ridiculous exhaust to begin with. And bumper too haha.

Did you tell the shop how you wanted them to install the exhaust? If you did I would have told them right away to fix it. If you didn't tell them anything and assumed they could read minds, then I guess there isn't much you can do other than spend money to fix it to your liking.

Second, your piping looks way too large! You don't need anymore than a s SINGLE 2"-2.25" pipe on a Cooper non-S. That's why you lost torque. Plus Adding all that weight to your car doesn't help either.

I always find it funny when people modify their cars to perform poorer than oem. I guess I can say the same about appearance also, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer!

Thanks, but this is not what this topic is about. All I asked is how to solve the problem not base on your opining what you don't or like and is not your car. Why are you talking about a bumper? I never mention in this topic about a "bumper", only "exhaust". Also, I am still working on the bumper and is not done yet. I have always liked dual exhaust out on each side.

First, how I am I suppose to know not to get those exhaust? Have you experienced and heard of it on a Mini? If yes, please explain. If not, then this is not the place for you to be here. I have had several exhausts with chamber on other cars in the past and have heard nice sounds, but never or heard one on a Mini Cooper.

Yes, I have told them before installing it and told them that I was not happy how it was setup and did you not read my previous post that I have mention how I want it setup?

In the pics that you seen looks large, but is a 2" pipes and I understand about the size losing torque, but what about the locations of the three mufflers good or bad? If you dont know then dont bother saying anything.

It what you like and is what you want to with your car. If you want to modify or leave it as OEM, and I see parts of your car has already be modify the way you listed in your signature and is not OEM, so does that means your car is a pooper? I am not saying is a pooper or anything like that, is what I am reading from your message.

I find you very rude, and you shouldn't discriminating about my car or if you have said it to others.

Can you please stay on the topic about "Exhaust" that I asked, but not what you "like" or "dont like".

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer!
Sorry and thanks.

What? That doesn't make any sense...

Anyways, you are right I guess I was rude. I just kind of felt sorry for you since you were basically talking to yourself for the last 5 months in this thread. You won't find too many people doing mods like this, especially on R50s. I should have just let you be from the begining and not said a word haha.

I'm curious as to why you left the muffler shop without having them fix the system to your liking if they screwed it up? However, I don't think the locations of the mufflers will change much if anything. You can always add 2 more mufflers right behind the bumper

Thanks, I have had the mufflers for awhile and havent had it installed till Dec. 2011.

Is a long story when I spoke to the muffler shop and we had a deal so he reduces the price and he didnt want to take up more time to change it. My stock OEM was already falling apart and it was not worth putting it back on.

I have no advice as I dont personally like the Lumma bumper just for the exhaust reasons. Its a big PITA. But it will look great if done right. I agree about doing what you like. I get that from people all the time....ohhh..why are you so slammed...why did you gut the car.....why did you cage it....why is it so loud...

I got an email from a guy saying to remove my two dual exhausts after the cat to put it in the rear and it will reduce the noise, but I am not sure if this will help much and the spare tire is in the way. Does anyone know? Also, he said to get a smaller diameter size and a longer length chamber mufflers which will help reduce the sound.

I might have to remove my spare tire and I do not know want to do that., but still working on it.

Here is a picture of someone's car running chamber mufflers that was done in the past, but not sure who's car it is. This guy who owns the car is running turbocharger, and I am assuming it much louder than my, but he is running longer chamber exhausts length.
