davo99 I see you have an xplode system, do you have a sub and amp? Where did they run the wiring from the amp to the battery? Under the carpeting? Thanks

* bump * and an update....

Rogue Engineering Exhaust
H&R Springs
OZ Racing Chrono Evo wheels, Continental ContiExtreme's 215/40/17
Helix Stage 2 Brake Kit - Stop Tech Big Brakes front, Mintex pads on back
Helix Upperstrut Brace
Helix RDR Adjustable Rear Swaybar
Monster MINI Force Intake
Helix Short Shift Kit

Latest additions were the Stop Techs and the Helix Short Shifter. IMO, the short shifter feels "right" for my car - still breaking it in (and it has been quite cold here as well) But I like it....and in the end, that's what matters

I just updated my post on page one. Last week I had a local race shop install the B&M short shifter kit, and I am loving it! What a difference! The shifting throws are MUCH shorter, and the entire gearbox feels more substantial and sure-footed. Shifts are fast and direct and intuitive, with none of the mushiness that I used to complain about (especially going into first). This really makes the car suddenly feel much more expensive AND fun to drive. Shifter height is decreased by around an inch, maybe an inch and a half, and I'd say the muscle required to shift is slightly more on the surface, but considering the fact that the process takes a fraction of the time that it did before, I think this makes the car much easier to drive. The inexact shifts are one less thing that I now have to be distracted by. Thanks to everyone for recommending this! Easily the best $300 I have spent on this car.

[I'll list mine in a week or so following the installation of a couple of nice mods (well, nice to me). One of the two: ignition upgrade.]

Got the CVT MINI with SS+, DSC, Madness CAI and exhaust installed by the MINI dealer, along with tinted windows, clear tail lights, H/K stereo, and I'm getting the XM satellite radio in a couple of weeks (also to be installed by the MINI dealer). Looking forward to more mods later.............

OK...Here is a complete list of the entire modifications that have been completed to date on the primeMINIster:

The formal list of the performance mods are as follows:

BMP Instake
Madness Big-Bore Throttle Body
SuperSprint Exhaust
Powerchip ECU
H-Sport Springs
Alta Rear Sway Bar
H-Sport Control Arms
17" Wheels and Yokohama ES100s
Schrick Stage 1 Camshaft
Milltek Stainless Header
Cooper S Valves
Ported/Polished Cylinder Head

The list of the interior mods are as follows:

Union Jack Flag Sunroof Decal by Cooper Flags
Bonnet Stripes
Rally Lights
Tinted Windows
Euro Shelf
Console Organizer

Finally, the most important mod:

thePassport SR7 with Laser Shifters

Now the real questions is: "How well is the CVT handling all this hp"? The answer is just fine with no problems. If I had to guess we are pushing 160 to 165 hp on the Cooper (stock 115hp)! We will be installing a temp gauge to moniter the CVT. At some time in the future we will be changing the CVT to a 6 speed!

It has been a wild ride. Check out the posts on MetroplexMINI.org under primeMINIster for more details.

Ahhhh...a nicely modded CVT. Have you dyno'd the car, or done any 1/4 mile runs? Would be cool to see what it can do.

OK Cheif,

If i wanted to match your mods, what damage would it do to my bank account?

How reliable is your mini with these mods?

I do about 70miles a day, would these mods effect fuel consumption?

I have 18" OZ Titans on my mini, would the springs you have still go on as i dont think i could lower it?

Cheers boss.

Maximus.

MAXIMUS - not sure which owner you're question is directed at here...but depending on where you buy the parts and do the installation (or do them your self) the costs will vary obviously.

I started doing mods at 6000 miles with the exhaust, the car currently has 28,800 on it. I did most of my mods over the course of a year, wanted to see how the car responded to each one. It's my daily driver, and I would say it's reliable with what I've done to it. Any time spent at the dealer was due to warranty issues.

If you change the exhaust and intake, you are likely to drive the car over 4000 RPM's just to HEAR it. And yes, it does pull better over that point as well. Driving like that will lower your fuel consumption. Of course you can easily drive like Clark Kent would.

I don't see why you couldn't lower the car with the Titan's on it - please post some pics of that setup, I'd like to see the Titan's on a MINI.

Anyone know where I can get the Cooper S fuel door? And does it lock like the regular one?
