what are you talking about?
the only studs that should be there are the ones that hold the hub and those are flat, if not they should be.

pics would really hep in diagnosing your prob.

Rims can be hub-centric or not. That is, the weight carried by the center of the rim on the hub like new MINIs etc. Others, the weight is carried by the studs.

Do your rims take acorn nuts or bolts?
Acorn:

Bolts:

in either case the weight of a Mini is carried by the studs. You must have the proper nut/bolt for the wheel.

Or is your problem the offset is incorrect and the wheel will not seat at all on the hub?

What kind of rim do you have. The Mini is 4 bolt - 4" circle. Honda is close but won't work. You must get wheels made for the classic Mini.

Minis are lug-centric, the weight is carried by the lugs. I assume the wheel shown has the bolt type with washers? Make sure they don't tighten and hit the hub before the rim is snug. IE too long. When placed in the rim, they should not protrude on the inside of the rim.

I am guessing here, do you perhaps have metro sourced 8.4 inch disk brakes, If so they normally have 4 curved lips on the hub face that needs to be ground off to fit mini wheels. They were for centering the metro wheels. If you have these brakes it will be evident from the 2 line brake lines per side, Mini ones have single lines running to each brake caliper.

Also, sometimes you have to just slightly flle the inside center hole on a rim to fit properly over the center of the mini hub.

Cheers. peter
