ha... i thought the first pics were the 1/2-way restored Mini... but i see where you're going. looks cool. can't wait to see the finished product!

Norm - great pics - I have been out of the mini crowd for a couple years, but looking for doming something like you - can you tell us more of what you have done to date? Or do you have a diary with more pics?

pretty much what you see is what is done.........mechanical, electrical,cosmetic....is the next chapter

Hey Norm,

Did you have to get your floor panels (can't remember the word) redone due to rust or anything?

if you look at the floor panels in the pic........what your seeing that might look like rust is actually foam padding from the carpet that i couldn't get up.....lol.........we ended up taking a grinder to it all and cleaned it all out.......here are some before and after pics of the rust issues:

it took me all of a day..........the worst part was pulling and grinding off all the carpet pading on the floor pans.........the rest was pretty simple....i just finished laying the Dynomat sound dapener throughout the floor, and had the car Towed to the mechanic (djminis.com) to do the Stage 1 kit, rally lights, Hi/Low's, electrical, Brakes and some other minor issues .......here is more updated photo's

How are you able to work so fast? Over what time period were all these pics taken? Are you doing the work yourself?

i purchased the car on 8-31-06.......and am close to being finished im guessing the end date will be 12-12-06.....i had the car for about a month and a half before i decided to do the restoration..................let's say i personally have bit into it as of today................i did all the dis-assembling myself and alot of the prep work to get it ready......the car wasn't in horrible shape........typical rust issues, but it has always started right up everytime i turn the key..........

would u mind telling me how much u paid for purchase? can just pm me if I'm "inturding" . I'm looking for a mini that runs fine with lots of work to do for around 6 to 7ooo.... (put 5 or 6 thou of my own into one as well... good to see, if I use my head it will come out sweet looking)

I saw Norm's car at Dion's shop yesterday. Excellent, Smithers, excellent! Looks great! What an improvement from the tomato soup red color...
