I am looking to buy one. Any one know of a good place to look? I am willing to spend up to 10k if it has the Vtec swap.

FYI thats for a prepackaged mini not a used one. They build them from scratch. I'm sure I can build the same car for 10 or 12k If I can find a good body thats not to rusted for around five But thanks for your Info. That I already knew

Here are just a few that I've found (VTEC or otherwise) - all classics:

http://westpaminis.com/
http://turkys.com/

And of course, there's http://www.motors.ebay.com/

I think you're under what it will actually cost. You'll be lucky to find a solid shell under $5k, a VTEC subframe is a couple grand itself, a VTEC (unless you have one) is a few g's, then there's the custom fabrication, repair of the worn out Mini parts, and the myriad little things that add up. You could do it, but it'll be tight. Good luck.

By all means, read the article in MC<squared>, Issue 1, regarding retrofitting a Mini with a VTEC. It doesn't address $$$, but it talks to the technical challenges, at least if you want to keep the classic's shape without modifying the bonnet and/or front-end.

So in other words, is the real price what gomini asks? Which of them is the best to make business? In past days I was thinking in buying a 5k-6k running mini and retrofit the vtec and everything else.

Was looking to spend about 15k in total. Better save 5k more?

its a pretty expensive endeavor as there is a lot to consider:
no brakes that came standard on ANY mini are suitable for a VTEC mini
the nose needs to be extended several inches
you need a solid shell and possibly a roll cage as minis were designed to handle as much power as a VTEC engine puts out
theres a lot more to take into account

some things are better left to the professionals

VTEC - no ....

OK - bring on the flames but if I knew of a good shell I'd prefer to point it towards someone who was gonna keep it a Mini versus converting it to a Honda.

To each their own of course, but I don't have to support the habit
