Very strange and much toogood2btrue ... the ad doesn't mention the engine. But, even if the engine is missing or completely blown, this price is too good for the apparent condition of the shell/wheels/interior.
If the engine is blown and the shell has lots of hidden rust, then maybe this price is right.

note what ever it is - it is not a '70
that's a re-vin . . . or seems to me anyway
side marker lights
seats have headrests
much later Cooper stickers that came on the Rover 'sticker Cooper' (could have been added in a re-paint but I'm guessing not)

Watch what happens when you email them, you'll get a story about someone dying and they just need to sell this car for whatever they can get and if you'd forward the money they'll even ship it to you for free and.......or they want to use an escrow service to hold the money while the deal goes thru...
Good luck.
here's what happened when a friend of mine responded to one of these TGTBT ads....
Hi,
Thank you for being interested in buying my 1957 Jaguar XK 140 DHC, 20,420 miles, Transmission: Automatic.
It is in EXCELLENT condition; the body and paint are great, no scratches and no dents; the interior is clean; it has never been involved in an accident; comes with all the documents needed for registration and clear title.
My final price on it is US $4,490. It is priced to sell fast !
My husband died one month ago and I decided to move closer to my parents(they are very old) in Canada and the car is here with me. As I am unable to travel in the near future and having no one to help me with the sale I decided to make this transaction through eBay. I believe this protects both buyer and seller and it's the right way to do this.
So don't get me wrong and don't take it personally but I would prefer to secure the deal through eBay. Also because the car will be shipped from Canada to US I prefer to work with a third party in order to keep the both of us safe in this deal. I will be assured you will buy the car and you will be assured that you will receive it! Basically the money will be sent to them and they will keep the money until you receive the car and only after you inspect and drive it they will forward the money to me.
If you have other questions feel free to email.
Thank you!

This is a scam, Ebay does not do this.
Good luck.

If it makes you feel better, you know more than me.
TGTBT on C-list when an e-mail is listed instead of using the default "reply to" when posting a for sale ad.

Anyway, it's a moot point since the ad is clearly a fake.
