Looking at getting new disc brakes
Looking at getting new disc brakes
So, I'm in the market for getting front disc brakes on muh Mini, and it seems that gbcarparts has the best deal on their 7.5" conversion (I want to keep my 10" wheels)

Or do you guys have any other suggestions?

The great thing about this kit is that you retain most of your mini parts. You will get the caliper mounting plates that enables you to mount the 1984 - 1987 Honda Civic calipers and brake pads to your existing drum braked mini swivel hub and the Honda Civic rotors which I will provide with all the machine work done if you buy the full kit. The machine work required for the rotors are :
Bore the centre of the disc out to 65.0mm diameter and Machine the disc down to 7.90" diameter and Re-drill the disc accurately to suit the Mini stud pattern .4 holes 10.0mm diameter on 4.0" (101.6mm) PCD). The only thing that you must do is knock the studs out of your existing drive flange. Set up true in lathe, machine the front of flange down to 65.0mm diameter. Only take a few thou off the front mounting face to clean up, where the drum sat and allow the rotor to sit true. You'll need to get cooper S studs which are longer and a 1 inch spacers. all the things you'll need to get is:
1985 Honda Civic Calipers w/bolts & pads 1 inch spacers (sold by any mini parts supplier, i got mine from Mr.mini)
two extra copper washers.
cooper S Studs
The offset is the same as a mini equipped with "S" brakes. The reason for the one inch spacer is to ensure that the caliper will not foul on the rim. The plates fit onto your existing spindle (were the backing plate from the drum brakes fit). You will still retain your stock flex lines. If your brake master cylinder is in good working order than it can be retained. The spacer is needed to keep the caliper from fouling on the rim. I hope this helps to clarifies things for you. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

I meant to reply back to you jolt, but I think I'm going to go with the other kit. Alot of my brake parts are very used, and it will be more cost efficient as far as replacing other parts at the same time by going with the other kit

Just out of curiosity, why don't you post a price on your web site, Jolt? I know there are people out there (me among them) that would consider swapping out the drum or large-caliper late model brakes (so as to be able to fit 10" wheels), but in absence of any sort of price range, simply consider the option as "probably too expensive". Just a suggestion...
