Howdy, I'd like to welcome myself, my name is Nick. I recently had my first baby Mini today, and I thought I'd introduce her.

I picked this up from my boss for really cheap, I honestly dont even have a clue where to start with it lol

It starts, runs, drives, everything works to what I've found out already......just finding out the little things about it.

Better get some gas...

Hey, Congratulations! It may not look like much now, but based on what I've seen others do with these old treasures, I bet by the time you're done with it, it'll look pretty darn sweet! Have a blast bringing it back to life!

Looks like it's got the same interior fabric (seats / door cards) as my 1973 Austin. The red is a little overwhelming, but it looks like a good project car.

Oh, make sure you post the pictures in the "you say you've got a classic, prove it!" thread in this forum. It's fun to thumb through those pictures every once in a while.

Congrats!
Jeff

Will do! Yeah, not much of a fan of red. That will most likely be changed to matte black soon!

Oh be brave! Do gloss black and turn it into a little limo...

Or make it into the grim reaper's car and do the gloss black and chrome everything that you can conceivably chrome...

Either way, she's a beauty!! Congrats!

I bet if you crank up the air pressure on a blow gun the red paint will blow right off of that chrome mirror and maybe even the grille.

It just don't look right to me without the panel seam between the headlight and the turn signal on the fenders. Hopefully its only a bondo job on that seam and not welded like that, unless you like it that way.

If you don't mind me asking can you clarify really cheap. Cheap in mini terms is still relatively expensive compared to your normal really cheap. I suspect you got an insane deal in which case alot of people around here will be jealous of your purchase.

If you havent already go over to minimania and look up your vin and engine. http://www.minimania.com/matrix/ Any other specific questions let us know.
