'Ola this is such a great story!! You really have a knack for adding just enough suspence and mystery,,,, we want more!! we want more!! You lurkers out there just have to make some noise so she gets to part 3 today!!!! BTW you husband sounds like a really good sport,,, mine would have told me to mind my own business!! and most importatnly why you were sitting there and watching this car did you eat a piece of pizza? Di you husband keep the boxes fsteady and not moosch the cheese??

I know I have missed some of the other points addressed last night but I forget-- this has taken me an hour to finish - my phone keeps ringing and distracting me...
Funny... I know my technical writing skills would make any educator cringe. Oh well. One thing I learned in a college class was about the "...". I used to just use lots of them and never the same amount. Sometimes I was like ".........................", or "..........", but I was "talked to"... told that I used them improperly and that when used, there should only be THREE "...". I use them as my dramatic pauses. I also got in trouble because I write like I would normally speak.

As for the husband being understanding... well, all I can say is that I think he's learned over the years that I'm going to do whatever I want most of the time anyway. He did not want to stop and wait... he wanted to go home. Ended up that we would have to reheat the pizza once we got home so we had a little adventure.

The husband has the idea that I should mind my own business too but there are some things that I have had regrets about "minding my own business", or "not getting involved". So I've just made the decision to follow my instincts and do what I feel like I need to do at the time. It feels far worse to have something happen that could have been prevented or if someone that could have used assistance didn't get it because no one wanted to get involved.

We were only stopped for just a minute or two and there was no time to open any pizza boxes. And yeah... in the end... the cheese was messed up.

Thanks.

You had forgotten that you made the Volcano cupcakes?

OK... when I checked in earlier I was thinking that there were just a few people that wanted to know so I was thinking that I would just "pm"... but now I see a few more coming out. BTW- where the hell is Skillet?

I will try to get the next chapter done by 9pm... but I can't make any promises. At least I won't pull an "APPLE" and drag it out for a month or two!

Those are called "elipses" and if you're quoting something but not entirely, and between sentences you can actually have FOUR. But you are AOK - you just go on and give us the last installment any which way you want. We're already hooked and already fans, so who cares how many periods you use???

+1 -- I do the exact same thing and tell my husband - "Don't tell me NO." I was independent starting at age three...and this guy thinks he's got leverage NOW?? Nope. Nuh uh. You go be YOU, MIN or 'OLA.

Here! Tada! I'm still floating around. Posting here and there. I was gonna post one of my dramatic pictures, but I think I'll hold off.

So, yeah, Miniola is "cute", not "hot" and if I call you a procrastinator, will post the end of your story? C'mon you've got my attention now!

Okay, I am going to leave soon for my last appt. Hopefully I won't get stuck in a messy snowy icey drive home.
Maybe when I get home there will be a part 3? I will be home around 8pm. no pressure,, no,, no pressure at all.

Hey skillet,, how the hell are you?? I've missed you!! adn hey give me cute and smart over "hot" any day..... I guess I have just exposed myself as being cute and not hot..... hahah

since I have gained some weight my husband tells me when I come down the stairs all dressed up and ready to go- "hey hon, you look cute" ,,,argh....

Gem- I saw Holly today!! my part came in that needs replaced on sloopy and since I had cancelations I took advantage of the found time and drove on down to Otto's. she looks great, she is such an upbeat, helpful person I am so glad that I found her for my MA and I am sure that you feel the same way.

'Ola,,, getting over your writers block yet???

I can't seem to get the thought of fudgey volcanic cupcakes out of my head,, sure wish I had a reason to go to Perkiomen......

I know we've all sort of moved on past the whole cybergypsy thing, but I saw skillet's post today and it reminded me of his communications with her on 8th Civic and her being banned from Macrumors.

I did some digging, and in addition to offering a Macbook air, I also found that she sold an iPhone to a member of Mac forums that the buyer never received.

http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/buy...tml#post635492

And after attempting to hawk the macbook air on macrumors, she then tried to sell it again on 8thcivic, but got connected by another person who used both forums.

http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/buy...tml#post655488

A further third person is, as of January 10th, threatening to file a lawsuit against her for selling him an item that she claimed came with an Apple Care warranty, which did not come with the warranty.

http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/buy...tml#post785424

I also found over 50 forums that have her registered on them on the Internet using the Nickname, "Cybergypsy".

I don't know how much of this is true, because these are all comments made by other people on another forum, but if anyone happens to stumble upon this thread looking for info about her, buyer please, please beware. Skillet is not the first person she's scammed and I doubt he will be the last.

Yeah, I was thinking I was past it, too, and was minding my own business (mostly) and was searching the NAM Nav threads...can I tell you how many times she started a post with a boast (I'm a poet...) and never followed up on anything. I lost count after five. WHAT-EVER...

I think that I can't let go of what she did because I just can't wrap my head around why. After all the months that she hung out on this forum (she joined almost the same day that I did), why would she try to give away a car that she never had? Did she think that someone was going to give her a credit card number or something? Did we really look that stupid and naive to her?

I still don't think I'm that far off with regard to her psychological motivations, that she's crying for attention that she's just not getting, but the more I read and dig up about her, the more I suspect there was a logical motivation as well that I'm just missing.

Maybe I'm too nice and goody two shoes to get it.

I think it's hard to wrap your mind around it because it wouldn't ever occur to you to DO such a thing yourself. She also claims to "write code." But never produced anything to prove it, so yeah...there's a lot of fishy stuff. But ya know, we've all done our best to inform as many as possible. Meh - it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round.

I was typing part 3 and when I clicked the backspace button to delete a sad smiley and it went back a page! I couldn't stop it. WAHHHH!!!! I have to rewrite it. It was almost half done... and now it is gone. I'm sorry. I'll keep working.

I have done that many times. That’s one of the reasons I use Word when typing my posts, also my spelling is terrible. The red underline is my friend!!

Although I just went to copy this into NAM (ctrl+c) and ended up with just a “c”. Luckily I just did an “undo typing” and everything is OK.

Patiently awaiting the chase scene in part 3…

I am thrilled to inform the group that the Bulldog has been placed back up on the shelf for display purposes only and I have my baby back! My sweetheart of a Dad took my tire in and as it turned out, dirt had become lodged between the tire bead and the wheel rim. It could have been the result of a bad installation from the the very beginning that finally gave way and let the air out. The shop removed the tire, cleaned the bead and the rim and reinstalled it. They then submerged the wheel under water and watched for bubbles. It held. By 10:00 am my baby was good as new and my Dad called to give me the good news. Now there is also the remote possibility that MINI has been going off-roading during the day when I am at work. Beginning tomorrow I am going to have security keep a closer eye on her and I intend to jot down the odometer reading each morning before leaving her in the parking lot. Who knows what that little minx might be up to when I am not watching!

As for chambers (good one about the pressure chamber) one could say that at times it is a pressure chamber. I am the Director of Finance/Controller for my City and each Tuesday we have City Council. It has been known to get a bit "excited" to put it mildly over various City issues and most have a financial spin of some sort. You can imagine that during this current economic crisis, all departments, all Council Members and most certainly our citizens are all fighting over very limited, precious dollars. Do more with less is a phrase we just hate to hear. It is more like, do what you can with what you have. I have such a great staff that I have the pleasure to work with and all in all, our City departments work very well together. I use to work for a family owned accounting firm (I was not family) and believe it or not, there is no difference. Everything is political just on a much larger scale at the City. The State budget meltdown here is really taking its toll on all cities. By not working together and being unwilling to compromise we are destroying not only my State but our standing in the Nation as well as the world. Ok enough politics, its hard to turn it off on Tuesday evenings!

Hey Gemgirlpa, don't forget that Debbie Fields did not start out making cookies as her first career. I would say that she is doing pretty well for herself. My sister made gingerbread MINI Cooper cookies for Christmas and decorated them to match the cars owned by the members of our MINI Club. She also made applesauce (sorry about the "a" word) tree ornaments using the cookie cutter. You drain apple sauce through cheese cloth for two to three days and then mix in enough cinnamon (buy really cheap cinnamon from Cost Plus or Michaels) until the applesauce reaches the consistency of dough. Roll it out like cookie dough and cut out with the cookie cutter. Let air dry or in a very low temp oven until the "ornament" hardens. Once dry, lightly sand the edges with an emery board and then decorate with puff paint. They look like gingerbread cookies hung on the tree and smell sooooo good. They can be packed away and then refreshed with cinnamon oil each Christmas. We even use them as gift tags on packages.

Well time to turn in and I know my dreams will be sweet tonight now that I have my MINI back. I so missed that little car today. It is amazing how it can make the stresses of work just slip away and gently ease me back into a good mood. Ok, I'll admit it, we have become one. All that I kept thinking as I drove my Dad's car back to his house tonight to pick up MINI was how the seats just did not fit me, the mirrors were not as good, the stearing wheel was too big and the leather too smooth. It is so amazing how I have become so comfortable with my MINI after just a few short months, as if we have been together forever.
