Our oldest daughter also came in from LA to meet her niece, so the house is packed for a few days.

I wasn't crazy about the idea of becoming a grandpa at 44 but now after she has been born wouldn't change it. Our son has surprised us by making sure the baby's needs come first.

I think Will has the ebay sniping software setup for this thread. It'll be a little harder to get the first post of page 100 than a certain number.

 

sorry for not paying attention, but I been busy and haven't been on here in about a week. Can someone give me an update. I understand that Skillet didn't get the car. What was apple's response to why she/He didn't give skillet the car? Why would someone offer a car, but then not deliver?

 

More like *insert crickets.* Apple never came through at all - Skillet and Apple have been in some kind of contact, but not much. She couldn't even give him photos, although the car is supposedly in her posession.

 

Hi jpigg,,,, that is a really good question. No, skillet didn't get the car, as far as we know Apple is still playing around with lame excuses as to why she cannot set up the hand off. She has never come right out and admitted that she either doesn't have the car or has decided not to give it up.

My opinion is that she never had the classic mini and was hoping to have someone offer to pay shipping and make some easy money for her holidays.

Pathetic.....

Hey CC, having a grandchild is so much fun, I have 2 (I think i mentioned before) one is 21 months and one is 2 months.
the 21 month lives down the street from us so we can pick him up any time. This past saturday night we took him for a few hours and went to my best friends house who also has a grandson the same age... after 3 hours with 2 of them, I couldn't wait to drop him off and go home to bed! I'm only a few years older then you... but they are so much fun! he makes makes me laugh.

 

Ok... just finished up making the rest of the peanut butter salmonella contaminated cookies. Yummy! Not dead yet... must be alright. Anyone want any?

One thing I wonder about this Apple... you see how many "views" there are of this thread and we all know that there have been lots of lurkers throughout. I really think that she should count her blessings that we are relatively harmless... (ha ha "relatively" )... but I wonder. I wonder if she feels a total rush... like she got away with something huge. I wonder what the worst is that she's done.

There's some strong storms blowing through the center of the state right now... a little further south than where she is but there is a possible tornado (of course they're no Kansas/OK storms) but they like trailers... hope she's hunkered down in her bath tub. OOOh... that might be mean.

Does anyone watch the "Daily Show" with Jon Stewart? Love that show.

My cable box is STB. Trying to watch and type since I can't record. Anyone have that DVR/TIVO type thing where you can rewind and ff live tv? When we first got that I found it challenging to live life, thinking, "Oh I'll just rewind that"... but NO... once you miss it- you miss it! Funny how it changed that perception a bit. So tonight in the grocery store (laundry aisle) talking to the husband about how the difference between Woolite for darks and lights and I'm thinking it's probably more psychological than anything else... but I actually saw in my mind, a giant one of these- . It was really weird and funny. I told him I really need a giant green rolling eyes smiley for whenever he says things. (And I know he needs one for me!)

He just informed me that the back up hard drive has failed. Still got the laptop for now.

Hi all. I'm still here too. While I have not totally given up, I have begun the process of taking the Christmas trees down - and I do mean trees. I still have a small one up however and it can stay until we all decide as a group that we should give the "Classic Mini for Skillet" its last rights.

My puppy (a young 13) had minor surgery today, but I always stress when they have to put him under. He came thru just fine and is adapting to the "cone" as best as can be expected. Just like last time, he forgets that he is a wide load and tends to smack into things. He is sleeping and appears to be comfortable given the head gear situation. He is baby #1 and has his own car seat in the MINI. I can hardly wait to take him out this spring for some country motoring.

He loves to sit in "his" chairs (yes he has several) in the livingroom, particularly next to the front door when the weather is nice, like yesterday - 70 degrees in January - sweet.

The garden picture was in March of 2007. With the warmer weekends it is time for me to begin the spring yard work to get the play area back into shape for the baby. Oh his name is Krissy, actually Kristopher Kringle. He was a Christmas present many years ago.
