Does it have to stay decorated? I put the tree out in our patio until at least May. Talk about pissing the husband off! It gets all orange like a 1970's **** rug (but keeps all the needles on- it's a Noble Fir) and it smells like a giant Vermont/Oregon woodsy potpourri!

I'm not crazy. Really. I snip off pieces to use in my little outdoor fireplace.

Although I could probably hold out until July at least... I don't want to put Skillet through that kind of a wait.

Well, usually I leave mine up until after New Year's especially if we have a party. But THIS Christmas we had to make room for our 50" Plasma present...so out went the tree!

We took our tree out last night into the back field and lit it up. :D Nothing says Christmas cheer like bundling up next to the fire... of your burning Christmas tree. lol

On another note... nothing rings in the new year like getting your first classic mini. I'm making plans to pick mine up on Thursday. Come on FedEx.. pull through for me.

Wow! A new Mini AND a 50" plasma tv? You must have been very good this year.

We've thought it would be cool to light up our tree too but the neighborhood and fire dept frowns upon that. I'm sure it would set the preserve area on fire which would eventually lead to several homes burning... and there goes the Christmas cheer. Just seeing one or two branches flaming in the chiminea... it's quite amazing the amount of heat that gets put out.

Well, the plasma was my own purchase.. wasn't actually a gift.. come to think of it... the mini is my own present to me also... haha.. am I santa?

But seriously, the heat that comes off of a Christmas tree is unbelievable. You wouldn't believe till you saw it. It lights up the entire 2 acres.

And my neighbor is the fire marshal. haha. He loves it. We live just outside city limits so there aren't too many regulations. He trusts us too because every guy that has grown up under this roof is an Eagle scout with wilderness training and survival skills. So taming a fire is the least of our worries.

No Christmas tree in this house, but I'll leave the Festivus pole up for a while longer, I guess. It doesn't take up much room, that's for sure!

Aaaahhhh, I just can't do it!! I am so ready for the tree to come down. Tell you what, I have a winter/Christmas scene with an old farmhouse made out of old barn wood and fake snow and carolers and so on,,,, how about I keep it up til this is resolved? In fact I need to print out that paper mini, form it and put it in front of the farm house,,,, it will look awesome.

Hmm, no one here leaves their tree up for the full 12 days of Christmas (January 6th)? I thought that was a common tradition.

Any updates from skillet and apple?

My birthday is 2 weeks after Christmas (Jan. 8), and since the tree is so festive and pretty (and artificial), I keep it up until then.

On another forum I frequent (67-72chevytrucks.com) there's a thread about a guy who bought a house that contained a floor safe that he is yet to open, or hire someone to open, or taken people up on their offers to open it. He originally posted just to ask for advice. But it has gotten a bit out of control. The thread has been going on for so long that the thread actually has its own thread (hard to describe). Members of the thread's fan club have actually tatooed "IIOY" on themselves (stands for Is It Open Yet?).

Having spent the better part of the past hour reading through all these posts I fear you all are headed in that direction. Please get the Mini. DHHIY? (Does He Have It Yet?) is an awful idea for a tattoo.

OMG- I can keep the tree up until July but I am not willing to get the tattoo! Sorry man... it would clash with my other one!

And BTW- Scooop & RJKimbell- I can't believe you've just read through all these pages and... well I just can't believe it. Take as much beer as you need!

And if you so choose.

I just went to that forum you mentioned... seemed VERY familiar! OMG!

I read the first two pages... skipped to the last page and then went back to page 58. Didn't figure anything out. Can't do anymore. So this dude has never opened his safe? WTF? The dude has total control over this ending... . At least we know that Skillet's got no more power than the rest of us have to make his Mini appear. Seriously, I can't go on for 6 months or more like those people over there. I sure hope Apple didn't set this whole thing up as a joke.

....DHHIY....I like the grill badge idea.

NIDHIY (no, I don't have it yet)

Well I've got an update as of last night.

Martha is on the ground in BC, the car is in storage as Sandy isn't allowed more than 2 cars at her place. I asked her about being able to get photos by tomorrow, but she's going to be out shopping for a car for her son, so...it looks like this weekend she'll get me photo's (I'm praying).
