Nice guitar Skillet !
My wife got me this along with a Fender practice amp

I'm just starting out with the bass but I did play around with one back in my teens when I was a drummer. The Ibanez 200 is fairly inexpensive but highly recommended for the beginner. So 20 years later I'm really enjoying this. If I get better and really enjoy it I'm thinking either a Fender P bass or a Gibson Thunderbird.

Nice Ibanez! Bass is pretty fun. A real good friend of mine (used to play in a band together) plays bass for the band Attaboy (http://www.attaboyonline.com).
My husband made a good point, GM must know that MINI is a strong competetor to use them in an ad like that. I guess it is some sort of backwards compliment. But who the heck would fall for what they are claiming??????
Only if the meetings don't interfere with my bar hopping schedule!
What is so stupid about this is that the starting price for a hybrid cadillac is 73,000 dollars. That just makes me want to go out and trade in a 25,000 dollar mini to save 1 mpg.
Cadillac: $54260
Cooper MCS (nicely equiped): ~$32000
Price difference: $22260
Gas @ $3/gal with price diff: 7420 gals
Avg MPG in MCS (Spirited driving): 28 MPG
Distance I can drive on 7420 gals gas: 207760
Annual mileage: 15000mi/year
# years to drive 207760 miles: 13.85
Where do I sign up before the Red Tag event ends?
Cadillac Escalade can deliver surprisingly good fuel economy. Green Car recently pushed the limits of such a vehicle to see just how efficient this mammoth could be. The EPA’s official numbers are 20 mpg city and 21 on the highway.
The 2007 MINI Cooper with a 6-speed manual transmission achieves a fuel economy of 32/40 City/Highway with a combined average of 35 MPG. The same car with an automatic transmission offers preliminary values of 30/37 City/Highway MPG with a combined average of 33 MPG.
For the turbocharged 2007 MINI Cooper S with a 6-speed manual transmission the following EPA fuel economy values are 29/36 City/Highway with a combined MPG of 32 MPG. And for the MINI Cooper S with the 6-speed performance automatic transmission the preliminary values are 27/34 City/Highway with a combined average of 30 MPG.

They were using this to compare. Pick a 2009 Cadillac Hybrid and a 2008 MINI Convertible with an automatic.

Our second vehicle is a 2500 Silverado pick up. It sucks gas like nobodies business. But it is great for our hobbies, surf fishing and scuba diving.
We sure didn't pay an excessive amount for it (like the Escalade) and we will surely enjoy my little Sloopy for some gas efficient drives

Well, you all are obviously NOT their demographic target...........
The point of the commercial is not that an Escalade is the same car or even a competitor to the Mini, it's simply to point out that something so big and luxurious can be economical, like a MINI........
Which is total nonsense even so........but hey, GM needs to get rid of those monsters somehow.........
Now, pass me a beer and tell me when the Mini is coming home..........

I am not taking down my Christmas Tree until Skillet gets his Mini. Who's with me?
and who wants to drive that beast in the city anyway ? great finding a place to park, and if you do your doors will look like a hail storm hit it sideways !
Is it really fair to compare a 2009 to a 2008 ?
and as already mentioned $73,000 ? Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot ! but I suppose if you like to brag how much cheese you have then owning one is for you.......I'll take the three Coopers
