Too good to be true? A scam in the works? What do you think?

 

I don't think it is a scam at all. Payment instructions say to give payment in person and you've got a week to show up and pay for the car in person.

I've been wanting one of these but didn't feel I could pay $20-30k for it.

So you are out of luck. I just bought it.

Definitely seems too good to be true...

 

I saw this same listing several months ago, but the price was a lot higher.
I always stay away from the "Pre-Approved" auctions.

For those that missed the link here it is. It was for a MiniTec VTEC conversion - very high spec car. The buy it now price was $5,600 with no reserve.
Ebay has had car auctions with ridiculously low buy it now prices lately. When you click to get more details, a new browser opens asking you to sign in - it ain't an Ebay site. My brother fell for one but he was able to log into the real deal and change his password shortly after he discovered the scam. I think the scammers got hold of legitimate IDs and put up the bogus auctions.
This one did not appear to do that, but I suspect there was another angle...

This is why I think its insane to consider purchasing ANYTHING on ebay above $50!

Too many fricken scams out there.

 

I bought my Mini on eBay, but it was from a NAM member.

 

I tried to buy a 2002 MCS today on ebay...I was the high bidder, but the reserve wasn't met. Almost seems too good to be true. Anyone seen this before?

I think it's a bogus listing. The car is in TN but the seller is in Canada. That stereo install has to be at least 5 grand. There seems to have been a lot of bogus car listings on eBay lately.
