seems to be the only thing holding the floors together........lol.......looks like the floor pans were replace but for some reason they rusted out...........my guess is that water got up under the dynomat and was never seen........THIS IS WHY I SUGGEST RHINO COATING........lol........ .........non the less, never be afraid to take on project, as long as you can keep an open mind and see the light......... im gonna try some different things with this car since i will be keeping it.........since someone has sealed up the hole where the gas can goes i might re-locate it somewhere interesting..........im gonna test myself with this one and see what i can come up with.........wait till you see the tono cover i plan on doing ...... .....STAY TUNED FOR THE NEW ADVENTURES OF "BIG NORMS MINI CREATIONS"......lol

Are you going to stick with an "A" series or jump on the Honda bandwagon with this one?

As I said earlier, I'm looking forward watching this one as I would love to go with a full convertible with my cabrio. Mine is a Keith's conversion so it keeps the framing around the door windows and has a "roll bar" connected to the shell in the rear bins to keep the body flex under control. I love it as it is but I it be much cooler as a full convertible.

im gonna use a A series 998, prob with dual carb's...........this is gonna be an all weather mini......no carpet (exept Mats)....i also wanna do an a wood floor in the rear section behind the front seats to the very back..............im gonna Rhino the whole interior and prob gonna paint it with a burnt orange color
Like this

we'll see.....i wanted to paint my last one yellow and on the day of paint ordering we changed to Jet Black.......lol.........but im almost possitive on this color, with White accents...

I dont wanna give it all away so just keep up with this thread, and if anyone has a good suggestions let me know.......(p.s. i dont wanna hear about how im destroying the car by doing this...lol......the car was already destroyed.....i think im doing the car a favor......im keepig this one anyways....lol...might as well be creative and see what i can do)

Yeah! Orange! Go nuts and fit the widest, deepest-dish rims you can possibly fit on there, along with X-tra wide Viper-style stripes - will look great against the orange. Since you can see the interior (obviously) I'd go all black in there with orange piping on the seats and mats. I'd put carpet in though, even if you end up Rhinoing the inside - it always looks better than raw Rino Cote IMHO.

If you think black will be too stark, how about a deep, chocloate brown against the orange? That way you can also carry over that color to the top and the interior and retain the high-contrast look against the bright main color. Deep brown would also be visually more interesting, expecially if you keep a touch of metallic flake in the color - the highlights will almost shine gold if you do it right. Definitely not everone's cuppa, but it would be unuique as all get-out.

Speaking of wheels, have you considered fitting larger rims on the rear than on the front, for that "rat racer" look? I think that would be loads of fun with a car like this.

As for gas, I'd put the nozzle either back where it's supposed to go (X2, Cooper S style) or perhaps fit it dead center, right above the boot handle. Might be tricky getting it to the tan that way tough - where are you planning on locating it?

i plan on taking the roof that i cut off and making it into a truck type bed cover.......since the car is de-seemed i will also weld in the boot so that wont be operable........still to soon to make any definate deccesions on what to do.......thought about using a gas can from a van since the profile would make sense under the wood floors......we'll see.......but i love to hear the different idea's........might do white seats.......i plan on using marine quality vinyl........

You're gonna need a shoehorn to get those under the bonnet with an engine in there!
1 question for you...I need to replace a bunch of my seals (window/door) while I have the car stripped for painting. Where do you get your seals usually?

djminis.com for seals.......Dion lives right down the street from me and his pricing is great.........as far as horns go ....i will be doing a chop top, and will be taking the roof and using it like a truck bed cover...so im sure i can find room back there......will also be doing hard wood floors in the rear area and will prob use a fuel tank from a Van and that will go under the floor........
