Took her to her first show today, put the new carpet in and found out she has an oil leak. Oh, and my dad broke the seat again.

I have to assume that the 1st pic in this group is with the drivers seat out? If not, someone is REALLY short!
A Mini with an oil leak? Never! Next you'll be telling us it's a right hand drive!

The more I look at your new addition, the more I think it might have been the one I was looking at a couple years ago. Did it come with a picnic basket? Looks great!

yes, but... did you get brakes? I want to see this little rascal. What wheels (or hubcaps) are you considering?

No brakes yet. My dad is going to help me fix her when he gets back from his honeymoon. I'm considering getting the s-lite deep dish wheels on GBCarparts.com. Gotta save up my money for them first.

You don't really NEED brakes in a classic. Open the door and stick your foot out on the road to stop.

Yes, but you also get an airbrake effect from the open door.

Or just take your foot off the gas. That helps too.

*** Sigh*** Me too. Well, not a HOLE, but a dent. That big flat place on the floor pan looks sorta like the jacking point on the new MINI. I had it most of the way off the gruond when I *heard* the pan bucling and backed off, but now it has a dimple. Grrr...

I did the same thing the first time I lifted my Mini. Now I use the front subframe as my jack point. Sigh

Mine did have a dent. My dad took a hammer and banged it back out. LOL.

Check out "dooderopolis" over on Minimania. He makes wooden jacking blocks for the classic - they fit between the sump and the front of the subframe to distribute the load evenly. I'm a bad boy - I usually use the tie rod mounting point on the front of the subframe, then I put my jack stands where the front subframe is near the body.

After. He has to fix the seat again because he broke it the same way he did before.

Did you try applying more force?
Do you know why it's not closing? 1st guess would be an alignment issue. Check to see if the nuts that hold the bonnet onto the hinges are nice and tight.
