Mini on Ebay

Saw this Mini on ebay today and was impressed. I am very new to the Mini thing and have been looking at a lot of cars. I like reading the posts and not to call anyone out or show disrespect, but I am trying to learn what to look for. What are the misconceptions that are sometimes represented.

I am not implying anything of this particular car. It looks outstanding to me. I wish it was reg'd in Cali. and close so I could take a close look. I even like the color (it is a close match to my sandrail).

Thought I would share this beautiful car.

I looked at this one on the site, too, and thought it looked good. It's an Innocenti which some people might reject because it isn't British, but the Italian version of the Mini was thought by many to be better equipped than homegrown Minis. Dontcha just wish you good give it a good look up close!

See, I just learned somethimg new!!! Never dawned on me that an Innocenti wasn't a British Mini. I guess the name should have been a hint but I thought it just ment something else. My D.A.!

It depends on what you want? An original(ish) looking Mini? The color is neat, but non-Mini. Unusual place for a crack on that door? Improperly applied filler? And why there? accident damage? Some rust "bubbling"? Again, something wrong with the way it was filled/patched? How long before it needs re-done again? I urge caution as you will need to have some paint work done.

An Innocenti has trim pieces and electrics particular to Italy. Some of these pieces, if needed, will be harder for the owner to acquire in the US, if not impossible. There's an Innocenti message board. You might want to look there to see common issues....http://www.specialistminiforums.com/

All that said, it is a very nice looking Mini and well presented.
