Just a little something for the classic guys... Morris emblem

Took this shot when I went to see a 1960 Morris Mini Minor here in Columbus. Alas, the car itself was too large a project for my megre skills, but the badge, I think you'll agree, has a HELL of a lot of character:

NOTE: I have a a 1600X1200 wallpaper of this image HERE for you guys. Feel free to use it on your PC as wallpaper if you like (right click the image -> set as Desktop background) but credit me otherwise if you end up using it elsewhere, mmmkay?

Thanks for saying so... I'm planning on enlarging it to about 11X14 or maybe a bit larger then matting and framing it. Places like Zazzle will also do poster-size enlargements but I don't know what the quality is - I might give it a shot.

It will go well with this image I think, in a sort of "old and new" series...

Here is a badge I shot at the National Mini Cooper Day on June 11th. The Cooper S owners swear the animal in the center is not a bull. They claim it's a cow and it represents the village of Cowley where the Morris was. Now it's the BMW factory.
BTW - Great image of the fallen leaves and your baby.

Cheers,

We just recently purchased our 2nd Morris Minor Traveller - had it shipped from the UK. Haven't had time to post any pictures yet. It's a 67 with some upgrades as it is now my daily driver.

If you look around on web sites over there, I'm SURE you can find one at a good price

That's interesting about the cow/bull story, I always thought it was a bull because of the posture, very proud and aggressive, but not as flashy as the Lamborghini bull, but I looked it up and got this,
"The Morris badge shows an ox crossing a river — a reference to the company's home town, Oxford"
Which makes sense when I look at the wavy blue lines underneath the critter, Manuel

We had a mess-o' classics at our MINI-Q last month. I didn't think to shoot close-ups of the emblems. I'll have to do that next time.

Doh! Manuel B beat me to the correct answer. It is an ox fording a river...
My badge looks a bit better than the one in the first post, but it's not yet on my car. I can't find an appropriate clip to fasten it on from behind, so right now the American Express card magnet is serving as my bonnet badge..

Cows do not have an outline like that. Check out any bullfighting site and you'll see the "real" similarity. That Cooper S smugness is "udderly" insane.
