When to put summer tires back on?

Question for you Chicago guys....

I have snow tires on right now. When do you usually put summer tires back on?

I'm getting tempted since its been so mild and supposed to get warm this week, but have this feelign that the day I swap my tires, it'll snow the next day.

Normally I wait till the end of March, but I actually switched out already as the 10 forecast shows it getting warmer here.

I'm going to be swapping out mid March right around Daylights saving time which is the 11th.

I think the worst is over and I do need to look at getting a replacement set of tires to the runflats anyway.

OK, so I think I'll be swapping soon too then.

I'm getting non-RFs too. Are you still going to run TPMS with the non-RFs? I'm trying to decide if I should save the $200 and not get them on the summer wheels w/ non-RFs.

I did it mid March last year.

Found out that Ventus V12 Evos don't take to the snow (or freezing temperatures) well.

My summer wheels/tires are going on tomorrow afternoon. 45-60F in the 10 day forecast is good enough for me!!

I have been thinking this too. The way things seem to go for me is as soon as I did it, it would snow 2 feet, so for you guys, I will wait until April. That should just about guaranty that it will nice for the rest of the season.

Haha...thats my biggest fear too. I put my snow tires on right after Thanksgiving cause people were saying how much snow we'd get this year, and of course it barely snowed at all so far this winter.
So I know it'll bite me again the other way when I swap to summer tires!

Being in Toronto the weather is similar to Chicago. I put the summers back on ASAP but you always take a risk. Hoping to put them on by the end of this month which is pretty early. My last MINI had 15" wheels so I always wanted to get the off but now with the JCW I always have 17" so I don't mind quite so much.

Weather has been very mild this year but it is just way too cold especially at night. Was mild for days and then it drops well below freezing again. Not safe to drive in cold temps with performance rubber so I will wait.

And being Canadian I don't have TPMS sensors

Just had those installed on my Challenge wheels waiting for summer.

Would be curious how you like them matched with the JCW suspension.

The sidewalls are too soft for my taste, but they did well for me last auto-x season with stock suspension and S-Lites. I haven't had the chance to try them out yet with my Dinan suspension kit and GramLights.

Yes, I'm going to run with the TPMS. I haven't even started looking at replacement tires.

I ended up just swapping tires on the stock wheels cause I couldn't decide on wheels and driving in the warm weather was wearing my snow tires away. So I do still have the TPMS on too.

Will be the first time I have driven the new JCW with summer tires on. Can't wait until they are broken in

It's suppose to be warm here in MN for this week. So I changed mine already. Also bought a new snow blower on sale. So with my luck it should snow heaps!

You are all welcome.

Long range forecast shows next 10 days in the 60's and I still won't jinx you all. I hate these squealing pizza cutters...but I know what will happen.

It will only snow if you sold the snow blower

I just put my summers on 10 minutes ago

hmm... what's your budget?! the picture was actually taken at the folks house in the northwest burbs... naperville pad doesn't really allow car washing in the projects
