Ideas for CAMM events

We'll get the calendar setup tonight, but what ideas do you have in mind?

I was asked by some Subaru and Miata friends to organize my annual 'PGT's Burger Rally™' again this year (last year was a hiatus as wifey was 8mos pregnant) which runs from the NoVA area down through the Shenandoah and back to the best burgers around for lunch. Any make/model will be welcome but we'll keep the group small or separate into A/B groups for better logistics.

Pirate event needed soon too - definition of a Pirate run (modeled after the Australian MINI Clubs) is to get a quick flat white (latte in the US) and a meat pie, do a good 45-60 min run on a favorite road and then depart ways.

Yes. Meat pie, Latte and a drive sounds good. Just remind me to get a Soy Latte with the Meat pie or I won't make it 45 minutes in my car.

Did I just drop a little TMI on you guys?

How about a drive to Winchester to visit the PTG racing facility?

PTG occupies a modern 26,000 square-foot facility located just outside Winchester, Va. The company utilizes state of the art equipment for the design, construction and testing of race cars and automotive components, including computer-aided design and drafting. PTG also provides engine building, dyno testing and machining and fabrication for both automobile and airplane engines.

...although they are campaigning a Panoz Esperante GTLM in the ALMS now, the car collection would be a kick to see.

would they even host us? I have snaps from their paddock at Summit....a big German guy ran me out of there for taking pics even though we had a garage next to them. Got pics of the M3, the F1 GTR, the M1, 320it race car...the BMW Heritage tour during Hyperfest back in '05 I think.

It would be cool to take a tour of their shop. When I lived in Winchester, I would drive by the shop every morning and see the car haulers in the lot. There would be a lot of activity on the some days and you knew they were off to play for the weekend.

One thing I noticed is that there was always a nice Mini in the parking lot and it looked like it had a few mods.

Miata friends you say? So I could attend a meet for both my groups at the same time? Hmm...which car to take?

After mod we need to do some testing. How about get together and join an autox event. Next CDC autox will be on Sat, July 5th.

This should be perfect fun for us, mod lovers.

I'd be happy to host an event at our shop. I work many Saturdays anyway.

I'm digging this idea. Perhaps a meet and then short local drive somewhere? You guys have short hours on Sat right? Like 9-12?

I'm interested in anything late on saturdays or anytime on sundays.

I'll break out my e30 for some events too, perhaps I'll bring others with me.
