Actually, I am almost ashamed to admit my commute is all of 2 km, maybe three if I take the long way home.

It started oh so innocently, I've got to get through break in, I thought, now I will go for a little drive and all of a sudden realize I am in Radium. Could be worse?

I broke down and got the JCW deal that they brought to Canada this Spring so mine is a Red and Black with Webspoke Wheels. A complete blast to drive.

Have a good weekend.

The Cowtown scene!!

Now this is the confusing part, I know some of use are on NAM, then some are on Mini2, and then theres the nuts who are on both.

So trying to orgainize an event is difficult! but I think well manage.

Now theres been rumors of a Sunday cruise sometime in September, I just would like to know who's who on NAM vs Mini2 and whos interested?

I'd love to meet fellow MINI drivers/owners! I've only seen Mike's car once, and that was going the opposite way!

Posted this on MINI2 as well....please provide thoughts/feedback.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
It might be the 'old guy' in me talking....but I also think we will have to put some controls in place on this cruise. Especially if we have a large group. I have seen too many accidents (some serious) on car club cruises in the past.

Suggestions...

1 - provide maps. Pick a route and stick to it.
2 - have stop points along the way where people can catch up, we can take photos, etc.
3 - organizer should cruise the route the night/day before to check for construction/road delays, etc.
4 - With a large group people WILL get left behind. Accidents will happen if these people panic and try to catch up to the group. Stay calm and just have a nice drive. You will have a map, and will be able to meet us and catch up at the rest/stop points on the cruise.
5 - Speeding....no excessive speeding. The cruise leader should stick to a slow pace.....even at a slow pace the people at the back of the cruise will struggle to keep up. If you want to drive faster stick to the back of the group. Posted speed limit along 1A is what 60? Stick to like 80 tops for that section.
6 - Any stupid sh*t and you're gone....
7 - A large cruise will attract attention from everyone.....police, etc. If someone gets pulled over ONE person should stay back with them and the rest of the cruise should continue on. If you get pulled over and there is a whole group of the same cars with you...you WILL get the book thrown at you.
8 - Radios. Bring em if you have em.

Any thoughts on this? Anything else to add....
Trust me here....with the number of cruises I have been on and organized this is a must. There is always one idiot in the group who insists that he is faster, has to pass someone, etc. etc...this is when accidents happen.

Hey guys, I've just found this from beyond.ca (yeah yeah, not most of you guy's regular places to visit )

http://www.cmgonline.com/touring/Tou...kis/index.html

This seems like a very nice route for a sunday drive, however, it might be a bit too long for some.

It looks like the best place to go is to go past Elbow Falls, there are some very nice twisties that are only open during the summer (NOW!) after Elbow Falls.

And here are the pictures from the beyond.ca summer cruise, they went and did the entire route to highwood pass and back to calgary on Hwy 22

Looked at that little map of their's and it looks pretty good , LONG! but good .

Now if we wanted something shorter I say we definetly hit up the twisties past Elbow falls, and then somehow make it back down through Bragg Creek and route 762, or possibly a little bit of Old Banff Coach Road?

Just my $0.02

Doh! Too bad it isn't on a sundday when I have more time! Speaking of time, what time would it be at? I probably can come for the meet, but not the cruise as I have a blood donation and other activities planned that day.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to say thank you for everyone who made it out to the mini meet this Saturday. I know everyone did not get to come on the ride but thanks for just coming out to meet with us. There was about 10 Mini Coopers in the parking lot. It was great to meet some of you guys that I see on the forums all the time. All of the Mini Coopers looked great and all of the owners were very nice.

I loved how when we got to Bragg Creek and crashed an American Classic Car show. (Did you like how I planed that?)

Here is the picture below:

We took a stroll and looked around at the American classics but, I have to say I still love my Mini Cooper much better!

Here is some picture of the Mini Coopers going through the corners of Bragg Creek.

A quick stop for another picture of the Mini Coopers and the mountains!

It was a great ride with perfect weather! Rob even has a video of the ride. (Rob will you be able to post the video?)

Again thanks to everyone who came out! And I also had a great time when we ate lunch. There will be another meet in Oct. I will post another vote for dates in Oct. I hope to see everyone there and more people too!

Motor on

Tony

Yeah the meet was fun and it was great putting a face and a name to the fly-by wave.

Anyways, I found this on another topic, if you need to post anything post it to here http://www.picapic.net. Supposedly its free!
