Welcome new AMOKs!
Welcome new AMOKs!
I wanted to start a new thread welcoming those who are new to AMOK or those who are in AR and found us here on NAM.We want to hear about you and your MINI. How did you get your MINI? Why? Tell us your story!

AMOK is a state-wide klub for MINI/mini owners who are 'crazed with motoring frenzy'. We meet once a month to just get together or to motor, our favorite past time! Check us out on our web site motoringamok.com
We'd love for you to join us.

well I live in Magnolia Arkansas.
I just bought a 2004 black mini cooper. dual sunroofs, tan and black leather interior, alloy wheels, navigation system, cvt transmission. 65000 miles. paid 13000 for it. i bought it in hot springs. I traded my 03 chevy silverado. hope to get some rims and maybe some checkered stripes on it(if my wife will let me). good to be here.

HI White Chicken!! sorry for the late response, I've gotten a job that requires me to work different hours. So I get on here and do a little at a time.
How do you like going from a Silverado to a MINI? That's what I did too. We have an '99 extended cab Silverado; it's paid for so we kept it. I lost room, especially when we go on trips, but I love my MINI. I might consider taking the truck on trips except it has over 250k on it.

Hey, I live in LR and just moved from DC/Virginia. Someone put an AMOK card on my windshield so I just checked you out. Glad to see I am not the only mini in town--I was worried. On the drive down over the summer, I came through a mini festival somewhere in Tennessee--Knoxville maybe?
Oh yeah, I went from a Blazer to a mini--whew, hard to put 2 kids in it!

Welcome to the Rock, 'Ton the Mon. The drive this weekend is at Mt. Magazine State Park which is close to a town named Paris. Some of us are spending the night in Paris Friday and Sat. nights. The Saturday drive starts at the lodge on top of Mt. Magazine at 9:00 AM. We are driving to Fayetteville via the Pig Trail which has some great twisties. There is a party Saturday night at the lodge on Mt. Magazine. Check out the "Events" section on the AMOK website for more info. Hope to see you there.

I'm from Russellville. My wife and I are considering driving to the Mt. Magazine Lodge Saturday morning to go on the Pig Trail drive. Hope there is no upper age limit,
and I promise not to get in the way of anyone's "spirited" driving.

Welcome, 'Ton the Mon!! Since you're new to the area, get a state map. Since you work downtown, there is a building behind the Capital that has the AR Tourism office in it. Go there and get you some info on AR. If you stand behind the Capital, with your back to the Capital, you will see 3 buildings - the building you want is the one on the right.
Mount Magazine has a web site, google it and you'll find it or you can go to the AR state park web site and get it from there. It will give you directions. It's west of Little Rock. If you noticed our state has all kinds of geography - flat, delta region to the south and east; mountainous to the north and west. Fayettville is in the north west corner of the state. The Pig Trail is called that for a reason, it's curvy like a pig's tail.
It would be great to get to meet you this weekend. You would get to see some of the state and with the leaves turning it will be a pretty drive! I have to work late Friday night so I'm going up on Saturday.
Check out the other threads about what's going on: we have one telling about our Christmas party and one about Toys for Tots that we are participating in; both in December.
PM me your email address and I'll get you on our mailing list as a member.

Resmini - I am leaving from Russellville and motoring up to the lodge Sat. morning. We can meet up and cara-mini (caravan). Offer is out to anyone: FreeSpirit? Also posted on the November thread - shoot me for posting it twice.
We are Randall and Deb from Oklahoma City. We belong to OKMINI and have made our reservations for the Paris Inn. We will be heading that way sometime Friday and plan to meet up with everyone Friday evening. We are looking forward to meeting everyone!!!
If it was an AMOK card on yellow stock (only cardstock I could steal from office supplies) that was me. I drive the BRG/W MCS w/ white stripes, sunroof, OEM roof rack, 15" "Holies," and "SPR DPR" plate (no, not that, "Spare Diaper") and park a few spaces up from you on the 4th Flr of Metro Tower parking deck. And . . . WELCOME!!

No one else representin' at the moment, so tho' I'm a newbie to AMOK as well (tho' not to MINI ownership) . . . WELCOME!! Look forward to meeting you zooming around LR.
Great to hear there're a number of Russellville(ians?) in the MINI world! One of the original Arkansas purchasers of a new MINI from Roadshow (talking 4-5 years back) lives there (or used to) and also has a cool classic Mini I've seen running around that town. I've spaced his name (Todd @ Roadshow told me about him); do y'all know him?
Have a great time on the Pig Trail!! Family and I will be running up and down the Nebo Rd. all this weekend (too much fun not to do that as much as possible when we're vacationing on Mt. Nebo).

HI AliMac79, glad to hear you'll be getting your MINI soon!! Looking forward to seeing you at our events. Check out the Christmas party thread. Tell us about your new black S MINI. Do you know when you'll be picking it up from Roadshow? Is delivery to Roadshow? What made you decide on a MINI? What options? (do you feel the 3rd degree yet?
)

Okay so I purchase (or my husband purchased it for my birthday) A Astro Black S Hardtop, Bridge Spoke Wheels, Audio Package, Convience Package, Premium Package, Interior Piano Black, Sport Suspension, and the IPod hookup. She has been dubbed Marge. I don't know when I'll be picking it up at Roadshow, it's abord the Freedom right now... it looks like it's right off of Prince Edward Island. I'm assuming the delivery is to Roadshow..
And I picked a MINI because I love small cars, I'm currently in a VW New Beetle, it's fun, but it needs more engine... So I"m upgrading!

Howdy!!
Purchased our 08 Sidewalk MCSa on May 26 and I promptly went into hospital for appendix removal on the 28th!
Anyway, now totally mended and have 1000 miles on the little fella. This is my second Mini. My original Mini was a 1275GT back in England before I moved to the USA some 25 years ago.
My family lives in Rogers, AR and we just missed the Fayetteville event. We have kids most weekends and so cannot always be available but would love to meet up with some fellow enthusiasts.

Welcome Minipsych! Love that blue Clubman. Hope you can join us for some outings in the state. We had our first Clubman with us on a drive last Saturday. It was a chocolate one. Love to have another one.
look at the other threads, there's someone on AMOKs threads from searcy. I'm not sure how far or close that is to Jonesboro. Do you know about the Memphis club? the MidSouth MINIacs. We would love to have you join us anytime you can, but I know they are probably closer for you.

week 29 production. Looking forward to getting involved!
