AMVIV 2006 Breakfast ** Thank You
AMVIV 2006 Breakfast ** Thank You
On Sunday, March 26, c3 (Cooper Club for Charities) held a fundraising continental breakfast event at Desert MINI in Las Vegas at the conclusion of AMVIV 2006.
Thank you AMVIV attendee's for your support for the thousands of children who live with Autism and one special boy of a c3 member. We hope every day for a cure. Your money and support get's us one day, one step closer to realizing this.
As a result of this 2.5 hour event we raised $2,000 (even better than last years HofBrauHaus!!)

Also a big thanks to our sponsors who allowed us to make this event possible!

Thank you c3 and all those who worked the breakfast!
Big thanks to those of you who attended and made this donation to CAN (Cure Autism Now) possible.
That's my son Ryan and on behalf of him and the many kids that are diagnosed with autism every day we thank you!
Huge thanks to the sponsors as well! You helped make this happen too!

Here's a pic of JustaguyinVegas's MINI before I worked on it

It was severely gouged all the way to the edges. When I came to AMVIV this year, I hadn't meant to be detailing cars. I only brought enough chemicals and tools to give some demos to show off my new detailing DVD and fix one customers car who I had agreed to meet while in Vegas. Needless to say, I think I will be bringing more supplies next year and be better prepared! I was happy that I could help restore Justaguyinvegas's poor abused MINI!

Here is a MINI from New Mexico that I really wanted to restore which had been beaten by a car cover, but I didn't have enough chemicals or time to work on it. I could only show the owner what tools, and techniques were needed to restore the finish, by doing a "test spot" to demo the method.
Good thing she won a copy of my detailing DVD, which will show her first hand what to do.

All I can say is THANK YOU TO ALL THE AMVIV 2006 ATTENDEES THAT GAVE GENEROUSLY BEYOND THEMSELVES TO HELP THE LESS FORTUNATE AMONG US! This is what makes us MINI owners so unique in the auto world (besides having the best designed and most fun cars of all time
KUDOS TO ALL OF US. Something to be proud of for sure!

Well, I'd like to thank Richard and all the rest of the c3 people for putting on the breakfast. It wasn't what we had originally envisioned, but very nice, and it was something that the Sin City club didn't have to organize beyond putting Richard in contact with Desert MINI. I got there kinda late after sleeping though my alarm, but the coffee was still hot and there were plenty of muffins and bagels left.
Good job guys.
Good job guys.
Thanks Agro,
There were so many variables to contend with, but I think next year, if we do a breakfast again, we can definitely expand upon the menu, this time knowing whats available to us. OMG, who would have "thunk" that buying coffee for 150 would be such an ordeal?? We called Starbucks in Las Vegas ahead of time back in LA, and they say--sure no problem, just order the 5 Gallon Cambro, you will need 2 of them, and give us 1 day of notice.
So we arrive, with 2 days of notice, no local Starbucks has any Cambros. I have 2 different stores calling other stores around Las Vegas, and after 15 stores all they came up with was one 2.5 gallon.
So then we switch to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and they say sure, we got 5 Gallon Cambros, but we need corporate approval before we can sell it to you, and no managers work on Saturday, sorry can't help you. Saturday afternoon, and we can't buy any coffee, what to do?? LOL. It has to be brewed the morning of, we can't buy it ahead of time....
Well we found a solution, but those are some of the things we learned. Combined with hearing stories of how tiny Desert MINI was and not having enough parking space, or tables, etc.. we did the best we could with what we had, and I think in the end it turned out pretty well all considering. Next year will be even better.

Thanks to C3
Thank you Richard and C3 for putting on breakfast. I kinda liked the MINI confines of Desert MINI. I also had the most incredible service from Danielle and the crew getting my "Monty" fixed on Friday after losing a part off my car. Gee, I've never driven fast enough to have car parts come off before!
Glad to hear you made more money than last year, a new goal for next year is established. I also won a little arm rest for my car.
See ya soon.
