FS: 2002 Xenons

I am now finally getting around to selling my 2002 Xenons off of my 02 MCS. The headlights were replaced under a "wind damage" claim. Colorado likes to use sand in the winter and the front end of my car got blasted with sand a few winters back. Since headlights can't be refinished, the units were replaced.

Details:
2002-2004 Design OEM Xenon headlights
Fully functional
Bulbs and ballasts included
For Cooper/Cooper S with factory installed Xenons
Washing assembly NOT INCLUDED

Condition:
Lenses with scattered, small rock chips
Chrome surround (replaceable) with scattered, small rock chips

The overall appearance of the lights is still acceptable. The lenses still look fine from standing height while viewing. This is the type of damage that is most noticeable at pretty close distance. To put in easier to understand terms: If I had to pay to replace the units out of my own funds, I would most likely have left them on the car.

Buyer pays shipping. Make me an offer.

Here are some photos:

Will these just plug right into the regular wiring harness for the non zenon lights?

No its not Plug-N-Play for people with halogens, I believe I saw retrofit instructions somewhere before but I cant recall where...

No, definitely not plug-n-play. It may be possible to retrofit, but I have never heard of anyone actually attempting it. I think it would be pretty difficult.

its plug and play. i have 05-06 xenons on my 02. the only thing that doesn't work is the leveling system. shouldn't be a problem at all.

That was all I was concerned about...if anything figuring out how to spoof the motors to go to a good level (i.e. so they're not lighting up the dirt or blinding everyone)

Does anyone know of a thread concerning the removal of the headlight assembly? I have done a quick search and found nothing. I haven't even looked at the car yet, so it may be cake anyway.

You are the only person that I have heard say this is plug-n-play to switch from Halogens over to Xenons among many people saying it is not. You are talking about the Halogen to Xenon switch and not the early Xenon to new Xenon switch right?

For the most part, it is plug and play. Many people say it's not because you need to install a lot more stuff to get the auto-levelling and washer system to work.

But, the headlights alone, are plug and play.

Thanks Rally, I guess it comes down to your definition of plug-n-play, do you know if the auto-leveling and healight washer system still work normally when going from 02 xenons to 05 xenons?

Ok thanks, I am about to throw some 05 Xenons on my 03 with Xenons... I will let you know if the auto-leveling and washers still work with the new headlight assemblies.

Talk to the dealer about the retrofit....they have a whole instruction booklet for the swap so you could see exactly what the steps are (if there are any more than just plugging in)

When I switched from my 02's to my 05's my autolevel and washers still work just fine.

i bought the chrome cover for the washers and clued them on to cover the holes. they were like 7 bucks. i don't even have washers or auto leveling and my lights work perfect.

for those who say that you have to bring the car to the dealership and get it reprogrammed is bogus. the ballasts does all the work. go figure.

Soooo easy

The swap was super easy. Three nuts, indeed. Took about 15 minutes, plus the time to glue on the washer caps. The only issue is with the leveling...one was full up and the other was full down, so for now the HIDs are leveled and the hi-beams are askew Eventually I'll either try and relevel them electronically (does anyone know what kind of signal the leveling motors get : voltage, resistance, square wave, etc?) or just go in there with a little hook and move them manually. For now I don't much care

And thanks for a quick and smooth sale, BIGGRIPPER The "damage" on these things is nothing. The ones I pulled out after 8 months of driving in the Northeast look much worse!

Great

Fantastic. I am glad you are pleased. If there is a way to figure out the leveling manually, I think that would be best. Of course that is me and my fear of "effing up the electrics" talking. Enjoy your new lights.

Ruh roh

I just want to keep this thread updated since there were a few interested parties. I am having an issue with the swap - https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=84132

I still haven't made progress on finding root cause.
