FS: MCS Aero Spoiler

I ordered this Aero Spoiler and then ended up obtaining a CF version and installed that instead so I am selling the normal Aero Spoiler now. For those of you that aren't familiar with the Aero spoiler it sits more flush with the roof line and doesn't have the arch hole. It looks alot more like it was made for the car than the great arch in my opinion. Still has a cutout so you can use the rear roof brake-light. It is primed and ready to be painted whatever color you like: black, white, silver, whatever. It is perfectly smooth and just needs a shot of paint and your ready to roll. I am looking for $115 shipped O.B.O. These are $270 painted from the dealership so you can save some money, find a local painter and get it done for $50. All mounting hardware is included except the double sided sticky tape stuff (find at an Checkers or Auto Zone) Thanks. SOLD!!!

Does this spoiler just use adhesive to mount? What mounting hardware are you referring to?

The aero kit spoiler just mounts with adhesive (I have mounted one to my 2006 MC). There are no fasteners/other hardware for the aero kit spoiler.

MINI has an adhesive "kit" you can order from the parts department specifically for attaching the aero kit spoiler. I believe that runs about $12.

Thanks Dave, that's what I thought, but wasn't sure.
Didn't you start a thread a while back about the different spoilers available from MINI? I don't remember if it was you or OctaneGuy that showed the install.
I'm a "bolt together" kinda guy, but for a $115 shipped, I could be a "glue together" kinda guy.

Other hardware...

The kit came with some goofy looking plastic doohickeys and some screws but no double sided tape. I installed my CF Aero with just the double sided tape I got from Checkers. It was OEM Approved Super Sticky 3M tape and ran $7 a roll, the $7 could do the whole spoiler.

So this spoiler will stay on with just double sided tape?
Have you had any problems with your CF one lifting or anything? Thanks.

I love the look of that wing and I am very interested. I have one question. When you held the wing in place at the top of the hatch, did it cover the holes used to mount your original spoiler? If not, are the "plastic doohickies" used to cover the holes? As you noted, the dealer sells a similar wing for around $275 pre-painted. They specifically state that it is for the MC and not the MCS. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the location of MCS wing mounting holes.

Mounting

It is extremely secure with just the double sided tape. I was worried myself, how can tape hold something on doing 120mph! In order to get my stock MCS spoiler off I had to get my shoulder under it and jump because it was so solid.

The CF wing and the unpainted one I am selling are identical. It does not cover the brake-light and YES it does cover those holes, you dont see anything but roof and wing. Thanks.
