FS: Carbon Fiber Door Handles
FS: Carbon Fiber Door Handles
SOLD! THANKS Everyone!!
I have a set of Carbon Fiber door handles available that were done by Coopergear.com. I purchased these handles for my own Mini but forgot that I had ordered the comfort access feature so they actually won't work for my car.
These are high quality, complete replacement handles that have never been used. They will fit R53 and R56 models with no problem.
Reduced Price - $100!! Plus Side Markers available too for $50!
Here are some photos...

Thanks,
Celia

If I may,
Yes, they are not real carbon fiber, they are custom finished to look like a carbon weave. Here is the process.
1. The part is sanded to remove any finishes that may exist on the part.
2. The part is primed.
3. The part is painted with the appropriate base coat, in this case black.
4. The part is decorated. The selected finish is printed on a sheet of PVA that is cut to the correct size for the part. The sheet is floated on the surface tension of the water in the temperature controlled tank. An activator is sprayed to activate the ink and prepare it for the part. The part is lowered through the ink, the water pressure pushing it evenly around all the contours and it chemically bonds to the paint. Part is rinsed in water and dried.
5. Part is clear coated and finished.
I do want to say that the pictures don't do these any justice at all. They do have depth that you can see if you were to see them in person.

Also, thanks Blake for the details on the carbon fiber process.
BTW....they do look good. Looks like quality work!
I was PM'ing CooperGear a few weeks ago, and he said that their process isn't a perfect match for the JCW pieces - the weave is a different size. Perhaps the door handles would be far enough away from your CF pieces that the difference wouldn't be obvious, though.
I'm having the same thoughts, though. I have most of the JCW interior pieces, and I'd like to have CooperGear do the vent rings and door panels, but I'm afraid that the differences in the finish might stand out in close proximity to the JCW pieces.

Here guys, take a look at my photobucket account to see what some more of Blake's work looks like:

CooperGear did my dash, see pic in sig, and I love it. I have a real CF Bonnet and they work well together. It is NOT Vinyl.
Hey Scott, think about doing the door panels in your MINI Color with a black weave, I think it would work well together and not clash with the JCW parts.
I've seen the colored work 1st hand and no pic will do it justice.

Sorry - didn't mean to threadjack. It just seems like there are a lot of potential buyers that want to know exactly what this finish is. CooperGear's post wasn't very illuminating, and no one else seemed to know, so I posted the answer.
They're beautiful parts, and I'm sure whoever buys them will be thrilled with them.

Hey Everyone,
I still have these door handles and they are still brand new and unused! They are sitting here collecting dust and I would like someone to get some good use out of them...SO, I've decided to lower the price to ONLY $100 for the handles! This is what I paid for the handles WITHOUT having them done with the CF process.
I ALSO have a set of regular Cooper side markers to match the handles! I had these on my Mini for a few months before I swapped them out and now I would like to find these a new Mini home too!
They are in perfect condition and I'm asking $50 for the set. A set of new Cooper side marker housing will cost you about that shipped!
If someone is interested in buying BOTH the side markers and the door handles, I'll ship them for free! Otherwise, shipping will be $5 for either the door handles or the side markers.
Thanks,
Celia
