FS '04 COOPER "S" MOTOR AND DRIVE TRAIN-OPINIONS WANTED
FS '04 COOPER "S" MOTOR AND DRIVE TRAIN-OPINIONS WANTED
I have a '04 Cooper S and want to sell the motor, transmission, ECU and rest of the drive train. (37,000 miles). I just need the basic body and interior and would want to sell the drivetrain as a unit. I really don't want to put it on E-Bay, since the motor runs fine and I want the future owner to see and hear it before it is removed. I live near Cleveland, Ohio so I don't see someone coming from across the country, but....The driver of the car hit a curb, which pushed the right front wheel back 4 inches or so against the inner fender, and breaking the half shaft, so the car is not drivable. The engine starts up and runs well and trans shifts thru the gears. Anywayz, I'm looking for opinions on what this is worth. Help!?!?

Yeah, they coulda said 3K, or 11 k, but I figured the right number was probably 5 or 6k; maybe a bit more since the engine and suspension cradle is included, along with the ECU. I just needed some confirmation. I might consider fixing the car if there's not enough money coming back out of the driveline, since the complete car does have pretty good value, and it doesn't appear to need too much work. The project isn't buttoned down completely yet, but I expect to end up with a large horsepower motor on a sports car type rear wheel drive platform. Stay tuned.
