Great news!! Out Motoring have confirmed our schedule for 3 detailing sessions with MINI owner and Griots Garage Detailing expert Sean Miller. These sessions will cover the basics of car washing (you'll be surprised at what you don't know!!!) all the way to properly using a machine polisher and polishes, etc. Sean has worked on site at Griots Garage for a number of years and has is a leading Griots Demo Instructor and knows his stuff.

Here's the proposed schedule for the 3 events:

Thursday: 2PM (2 hour duration): demo MINI= ???

Friday: 1PM (2 hour duration): demo MINI= LeahLuvsMINIs
- outmotoring
- scurvs
- LeahLuvsMINIs

Saturday: 10AM (2 hour duration): demo MINI= ???
- outmotoring
- scurvs


These sessions will be casual enough that people can come and go as they wish or stay for the whole tech session. We will also need a donor car for each tech session to do a demo on machine polishing if anyone wants to offer their MINI.

We would like to get some feedback on who is interested in attending each scheduled event so we can be ready. If you want to reply to this thread with the day you would be most interested in attending I'll add you to the list.

We'll also bring plenty of Griots Garage product with us but will likely also be taking order at MOTD for whatever products you may need and will ship them direct to you after the event if you are tight on space in your MINI.

That would be nice but unfortunately Richard will not be able to attend...I am sure he would love to come though!!!

 

I'd be interested in attending these. Probably Friday with Leah. Are all of the sessions gonna go over the same thing?

Also, there is a scheduling issue on Saturday. The photo is at 11 with people showing up at 10:30 so you may want to move it back a bit... maybe 12? Just a thought because with the panoramic photo shoot going on I don't think anyone will show up or volunteer their cars if it means they won't be in the photo.

 

Also, if you DO move the time I'd be willing to donate my car for a few hours. I recently removed my bonnet MC40 vinyl and you can see where it was. It would really be a good demo to show how well it can help those fading issues. Not to mention sell some product (to me when I'm wowwed!).

 

Interesting...let me work on this schedule shift on Saturday and possibly move it an hour or so...

 

it would probably be better to move it later? The photo usually doesn't get over with until at least noon and then there always a ton of people that go on the ice cream run .. however there is lots going on so I know it would be impossible to schedule an event when nothing else is going on.

 

I tend to agree...that is why I scheduled 3 demos....on different days...Hopefully those that want to attend will arrange their schedule so they can do the events they want...

 

FYI...photo is over no later than 11:15, George runs a pretty tight ship. But it does take a while to exit the baseball field.

This is our first trip to MOTD...can you tell me where you guys are meeting to do this demo/class?

I assume somewhere on Fontana Village, but I have no landmarks or guidance other than that.

All Demo Sessions will be held in the DIY tent in the Vendor Parking lot. There will be a map in the Welcome Guide with a vendor placement map of the parking lot layout. The vendor parking lot will be more than obvious once you are at Fontana
