Stayed there for my first Dragon. That place was incredible and Marty and Maura are the best host going!!

 

I can't wait. It's gonna be my first MOTD. I got the call about my reservation at the Tapoco Lodge today. oddly enough the person who called is staying down the street from where i grew up in Satellite Beach, FL.

 

I just switched from Fontana waiting list to 2br rustic cabin (happy dance while making mental note to add half-dozen cans of roach spray to list of stuff to bring).

 

Didn't think of that. but I'm definitely adding that to my list as well. good call.

 

I have heard stories about those old cabins.

 

I wouldn't call them stories... Those are well documented facts that some never return for those cabins.

 

I heard that, too. I'm kind of hoping that those people are of the less adventurous variety. I remember an otherwise attractive hotel somewhere in Guatamala with big roaches on the ceiling. Dare I ask what you know about these cabins?

 

these roaches can't be any worse then the camel spider that hitched a ride back with my friend when he returned home from Iraq.

and if they are. we are going to need a lot more then roach spray.

 

Maybe some of those foggers......kill 'em all at one time, air it out & we're all good

 

This will also be our first Dragon and we are staying at a nice Bed & Breakfast in Bryson City. By the time we had heard of the event and since we got our Mini in Nov, all was full at the Fontana... but we are looking forward to having a great time.

 

see locust did it properly no killer roaches for them. but then again i guess the roaches just add a little something extra to the story i get to tell when i get home.

 

Just reserved a cottage at the Tapoco Lodge Resort for four nights.There are a few rooms/cottages left.

 

I'm staying at the Tapoco Lodge as well. Which types of cottages were left?

It might take them a few days to confirm your reservation the owners are in Florida right now, for the winter i guess.

 

I requested the last overlook cabin(cabin1).There were 5 cabins and 4 lodges available(April 29-May 3) after my reservation.My confirmation just came in while typing this post.

 

I have the Hillcrest Cabin (cabin 1). So I guess I'll see you there.

I always try to wait as long as I can before upcoming events to post, but I'm too excited to hold off any longer! My wife and I made it down 2 years ago, couldn't make it last year, but now have a lodge reservation at Tapoco Lodge. Wahoo! I have to admit, thoughts of a "Village of Minis" run through my head several times a day, as well as the potential for new toys from vendors. But I should calm down, it's a long way off yet If I'm this excited now, I won't sleep for weeks when we get closer to MOTD.
Like I said, I should have waited a little longer to post. Anyway, I look forward to meeting some new people and having a blast...Again!

Yipeee can't wait...I get to have my roof graphic installed while I am there!!!

 

Roof Graphic?! sweet. of what or are we going to have to wait until MOTD to find out?

 

I was thinking of getting custom...but I love so many things...right now, I am going to get a full vinyl checked pattern like my side mirrors only covering my sunroof...

Well, it looks like my final decision has been made. I will now be camping. I promised to take my daughter to Disney World when I return home from this deployment. I have to save a little money if you know what I mean?

 

I hope to make it this year, but my wife is due sometime in June so it's going to be a last minute decision.
