Longer drive this year (coming down from Mass instead of Chicago). So might be looking for last-minute accomodations. Hope to see all my friends again :-)

 

We're definitely in!!! First time was 2008 and I made reservations for 2009 as soon as we got back to the homefront.

My wife and I will not be coming up until Thursday and we were curious if we can sign up for the drives via the internet or if we have to do it once we are up in NC. With the limited number of spaces, we want to know what we should expect with regards to making some of the day drives. Can anyone enlighten me. By the way, we are first timers for the Dragon and CAN'T WAIT to participate!

 

Yes, there will be sign ups here on NAM as the event draws nearer.

We arrived on Thursday last year and had already signed up for a couple of day runs.

Arriving earlier this year, as I'm sure you will be in 2010.

 

Correction, all sign-ups will take place on our MINIs on the Dragon website. I hope to have it all open in early January

 

We have some drivers coming up from Columbia and Greenville as a caravan but that will be on Tuesday, if you come up earlier you can join us.
There is an Orientation for first time participants tentatively scheduled for 8am With a casual drive on the Dragon afterwards on Thursday the 30th of April.

I am so excited that there is the new MOTD forum! That means the event is that much closer! Was there in '07 and last year and can't wait for this year. I was fortunate enough to get a room at Fontana. I look forward to all of the great events and the memories of the Dragon! See everyone there!

 

I'm returning home sometime in February, so it looks like I'll be coming this year. I'm about to see if I can reserve a cabin at Tapoca Lodge. Lady Godiva, were you and your crew the ones adjacent to my campground last year? I was like right next to the water with a jet black Cooper S. I think there was a hot chocolate Clubman across from my site.

 

Nope, this will be my first MOTD. I took delivery of Lady G on 6/21. Looking forward to meeting you!

Just made my reservations for the Tapoco Lodge today. This will be my first MOTD, I don't think I've been this excited since i got my first Mini. A little worried, so I'm definitely going to the orientation and dragon run. Can't wait to meet you all.

Ohhhhh, I get it now, your first MOTD, not the first time on the Dragon. Well, I'll be seeing you guys in a few months then. I'm still trying to decide if I'm camping half the time and staying in a cabin the other half or not. I like to save the money by camping. It allows for a few extra toys for the MINI. But sometimes it gets cold at night. I hate decisions !!!

 

Yep, that time of year can still be chilly at night here in the mountains!

 

Hmmmm...Cabrio, I just noticed something. Those aren't the Killboy shots that I have...where did you get those?

 

We stayed at the Blue Waters Mountain Lodge last year, and for those looking for an excellent place to stay, I HIGHLY recommend it.....
