MOTD 2009
#101
Hi everyone,
I'm relatively new and still waiting for my Black Convertible 06 to be delivered in 2 weeks.
I'm English and so the idea of going on these trips sounds fantastic and the fact that there are so many people in Mini's I can only imagine the feeling it must give you.
Anyway, I live in San Antonio and was wondering if people travel from all over for this event, if so how long does it take to drive up there and any other information that would be helpful would be great.
I've looked on the MOTD site and it is very informative.
Look forward to hearing back from you all.
Happy Mini Motoring

Last year we went with AGRANGER and took about a day and a half to drive with a stop overnight. Rick and I took the same amount of time to come home but the others drove back in one day. I hear it was a trek!
cabriopilot, Daphne's (TINGLY) boot is in your pics... what a great line up of cars!

I would like to come, but it depends on whether not I can find an inexpensive place to stay that isn't too far away from the center of things. I'll be making the drive alone and be there alone.. so I guess I might need to socialize here a little more often so I won't be sitting around by myself all weekend!

Looking forward to going again this year! I should finally have my new suspension all set up by then. Last year I rode Ambrosia on the Dragon fully stock and it was still a blast...can't wait til this year though!
I booked a 1 bedroom Willow cabin last year at Fontana that I *might* be willing to transfer to someone but I'll let any takers know as we get closer to MOTD.

You would think that they would bring in extra portable cabins just for us.
As for the pryo, it was a falling tree/branch that took out the power lines that set off the fire.
Or at least thats what we have been led to believe..

This'll be my 7th and let me tell you...it's worth every penny and every mile driven to get there. You'll have a blast, I guarantee it.

Losing your Dragon Virginity will be a day you'll never forget, even if you live to be 285 years old.

Ok then. I'm in.
No co-pilot, going solo.
GF has to work :(
Anyone w/reservations at the Fontanna and not going. PLEASE Send me a PM !
After travelling some 1,000 miles, the thought of having to drive 80 miles a day for events makes me tired just thinking about it.....just not as young as I used to be ya know.

I drive solo as well and have done for the past 5 events..hubby just can't take the time.
You can do as much or as little as you want, once you're there. Just don't try to do everything every day and you'll be fine.
