Quote: I hope to make it this year, but my wife is due sometime in June so it's going to be a last minute decision.
If you're getting a wife in June, I suggest you party it up at the Dragon!

WOW, you guys are just ******* him . If it makes you feel any better Coop, my wife was due in Sept '06, and I still attended that year. Then my little bug actually came a month early. Hey, this maybe the last time you can make it for a few years. I'd say try and make it, with her blessings of course.

Funny!

My wife is due in June which prevents her from going due to the un-closeness (yes I made that word up) of hospitals to the dragon. The timing of her due date combined with work (or the lack thereof) is really what's keeping me from committing at this point.

My daughter went to her first Dragon when she was 4 months old and again the following year, I don't think that we would hesitate bringing our second child either, but we would probably have to FedEx the luggage or bring a support vehicle.

I still have my lodge room reserved at Fontana.

I need some new brake pads and some better tyres before my MINI can tackle the Dragon. Other than that I am ready to go. Just counting the days.

No Dragon for me....it comes at the exact wrong time of year. I traditionally spend that weekend fanning the embers here on NAM so the flame continues to burn brightly...or something like that!!!

Swain County Hospital in Bryson City, wonderful hospital, great people. And I know it is possible to make it from Fontana (35 miles) in exactly 34 minutes in a Honda Odyssey!

Info on The Dragon
Hi everyone,

I'm relatively new and still waiting for my Black Convertible 06 to be delivered in 2 weeks.

I'm English and so the idea of going on these trips sounds fantastic and the fact that there are so many people in Mini's I can only imagine the feeling it must give you.

Anyway, I live in San Antonio and was wondering if people travel from all over for this event, if so how long does it take to drive up there and any other information that would be helpful would be great.

I've looked on the MOTD site and it is very informative.

Look forward to hearing back from you all.

The answer is YES, I have seen MINI's from California and Canada and all points in between.
I don't think I have ever seen one from overseas but I may have just missed it.
If you check this site for your local club I'm pretty sure you'll find some locals that are making the trip that wouldn't mind if you would caravan with them.

Pictured below is representation from SC, MI, WI, OH, FL, NY, TX, GA, VA, MD, MS, IN, AL, TN, NJ, AZ, PA, CA all have been seen around previous MOTD events.
