Make a Mini-wish
As long as there are going to be a whole bunch of us in one place, I thought this might be a fun idea and a way to meet people you might not otherwise meet. Got a mini-related wish? Find someone who can (and will) grant it.

1. I want a ride in a classic mini.
2. I want to hear, both from inside and outside, both moving and stopped, a one-ball exhaust on an 05 or 06, especially convertible, before I get it done to mine.

I could help you with an Alta 2.5" exhaust... it's a single muffler setup...
My wish would be to be the passenger in a REALLY FAST MINI on the dragon! I need a good scare!

Thanks, MINInurse. I'll arrive Thursday afternoon. When is the best time to do this? I am staying at Fontana. As yet, I have no other commitments except getting my swaybar installed Friday morning.

Would be happy to let you listen and/or take you for a drive if I can.

Same routing, different muffler and a different resonator than the stock Alta unit (had to go with a Vibrant bottle-type resonator to get some additional clearance for my short shifter). It's a bit louder than the stock Alta unit and definately louder and popier (on downshift the burble goes to a very distinctive pop and, as MINInurse can tell you, my car was very burblie (is that a word

Sounds good! Just look for my triple-PW (PW/PW with PW painted arches) and webspokes. I'm really looking forward to that sunrise drive!
My MotD wish:
To find a slower/break-in group to run the Dragon with. I might go on one of the other drives Friday but haven't decided yet.
Break-in MINI, Dragon virgin, do not want to get stupid & drive beyond my very modest experience on twisties, nor be in everyone else's way. Still can't wait...I've always enjoyed MotD just tagging along w/ my husband and his MINI and now we're bringing 2 of 'em! My schedule's getting full already: getting there Thurs. evening, chillin at the social events, shopping for accessories for my new baby, doing the geocaching thing Sat. afternoon and the parade whenever it is.

+1
And my wife wants to see a Clubman, preferably Hot Chocolate. Living over 2hrs from a dealer can be a pain sometimes.

My wish is not to get car sick. I've never been car sick before, but would not to do it on the Dragon. As a driver, I'm sure I'll be fine, but if I have to be a passenger who knows. Took the road to Hana once and had fun as the driver, my sister as the passenger did not have so much fun. What do they say about paybacks?!!!
to mellotron, im totally with u if you wanna take a slow casual drive down the dragon, i've only been driving for a little more then a year, and last year i decided not to bring my mini cause my dad was taking his and i didnt want to pay for gas (totally regretted that when i got there) but you know slow and steady wins the race, no need to zip down the dragon, a nice leisure drive would be nice!
My wish is to take a ride in an 07/newer yellow S convertible, and to maybe (if anyone is daring enough) drive one!?!
(preferably not stick)

They are elastic bands with 2 plastic beads that press into accupressure points on the wrist. You have to put 'em on BEFORE you start to feel sick, but they are a nice preventative measure. The other key is to look actively forward of the car, as far into the distance as you can and to track your head through the turns (pick a point in the distance and turn your head to follow it).
From my piloting boats, planes and MINI's I can tell you that if you don't want to get sick keep your head and eyes
on the horizon and out of the cockpit (passengers only).
It also helps if you keep good ventilation (windows open, sunroof open), thats why I think its harder to get ill in a cabrio.
