I was going to stay there but lucked out and am now sharing a cabin with a couple of other NAM'ers at the Fontana. If I wasn't able to get a room at the Fontana, the Blue Waters Lodge was definitely our top alternative! I've never stayed there before but heard a lot of good things from other forum members and it looked beautiful.

Mrs. Zoom and I will be there from Thursday to Sunday... We had a wonderful time last year, so we figured why even try the chaos and stress of Fontana- Blue Waters is the place. Wonderful food, wonderful accommodations, and a wonderful drive to the action, if you want... if not just have a wonderful drive. How many days now?

We'll be there again, Wednesday through Sunday.

We're going to be bringing a much less conspicuous car this time, though, to try and throw that NC state trooper off our tracks

We're going to bring a separate cooler just to hold the scones we plan on stealing. Do you think Maury will notice if I ask for 50ths on them every morning ?

Looking forward to seeing the Blue Waters Mini Club members again, and adding some new ones!

WooHoo! Glad to see some of the old crew back again! Can't wait to see your "less conspicuous" MINI, but will miss Blooper's smiling face. I think Tink would have a hard time making it to speeds where a trooper would pull us over I call the spot up front! I'm concerned about Tink making it up the hill.

Love the pic! Looking forward to relaxing for a couple days.

Sadly these two members of the Blue Waters Mini Club (Michael and I) can't make the Dragon this year due to one of those milestone family events on May 2nd and 3rd that you just can't get out of without really peeving your sisters.

We are actually coming down the following week to hang out because we love the place so much.

Never fear, we have our room for 2009 and we'll be back!

Oh gosh that really stinks! I would have loved to be there with you guys! I did speak to Maury again yesterday and she still has a few rooms open for anyone else looking for lodging.

Wow, I'm surprised there are still rooms available! We made reservations for this year right after breakfast the first morning

Don't forget to pack those growlers for the BBC (Brewery, Bakery, Cafe) trip to Sylva! QueenB led us on a much more twisty route to there at the Fall Dragon, so there's still hope we can evade the stormtroopers...um state troopers on our way

When I talked to Mike last night he said they have rooms Wed night, but they are booked from Thurs to Sunday (not surprising).

Now, what's this about a BBC trip??

Last year, we found a microbrewery in the area that my wife and I wanted to visit, but we didn't know exactly where it was or how to get there. While chatting the first evening at Blue Waters, I mentioned it and within seconds Professor Zoom had whipped out the laptop, found the place, and put the data into his GPS We went there the next day, and many great adventures (and misadventures) followed. In the same block there is a great cafe and bakery, so we decided this fall to go for the hat trick and hit them all

They make a mean root beer if you're not a drinker. I think I'm craving that now more than the beer

I think I got the last of the rooms at the Blue Waters. My wife, Kathi, and I and our friend Jeff will be staying there. You'll have to forgive Jeff in advance. He went for the Porsche instead of the mini. We're still tagging along with him anyway.

Looking forward to meeting mini of you!

I'm heading up a run Friday to the brewery, I'd love to have anyone interested join us, and of course your route to make it more fun. Sue and I headed back when we were at MME in the summer.

With Tink's limitations I'm hoping to escape the agents of the Empire this time around. Slow and steady wins the race.

The run is part of the day drives that Snooter was organizing so registration for the drive should be available soon. Sorry to say, but I've got the start time set for 9:00 We can bring back a growler for you if you want

Depending on what kind of stripes you want, we may be able to install them at Blue Waters.
