We can talk logistics on Sunday at the track in New Castle... Trixie and I love the place and it'll be nice to have another Hoosier around to block Terry from the scones.

My wife is a Hoosier. Half her youth was spent in Seymour with her grandparents and cousins.

One thing that was better then the scones.... The deep fried cheese cake they have for desert.

I think that is the only reason my wife is going back. Man that stuff was insane.

Trixie and I are planning on at least one dinner at the Lodge- missed the opportunity last year when we signed up for too many evening events... this time around, we are taking some time for ourselves.

btw- Terry, You guys OK with all that weather in Atlanta?
Also, I hear you really don't have any worries when it comes to Sputnik and the troopers. I have heard, from a WAYward source, that Sputnik is really like the six million dollar man - "better, stronger, FASTER." Fortunately, Sputnik will not be able to protect the Scones.

We're also planning a couple of dinners there to make up for missing them last time.

The storms were nasty here, but no damage. Some friends in-town weren't so lucky, though :(

And yes, I have seen the WAY with Sputnik. We had to ease up on the mods, because the low end torque was altering the Earth's rotation. That might have been what caused the recent bad weather! If Chuck Norris was a car, he'd be Sputnik The scones don't stand a chance!

How far is this from the rest of the festivities. I think I am going to bring the classic mini and my two 4 year old sons on our first trip to MOTD. This sounds like it could be nice (if they have availability still.)

About 30 minutes to Fontana over some fun roads. I am not sure of how they are set up for kids.....

That would make two classics at the Blue Waters Just remember I called dibs for the front parking spot back on March 4th.

I do agree with Jen, I don't know about kids either... no harm in asking.

Looks like the event planner is up! If you would like to join the run to Heinzelmannchen Brewery in Sylva it looks like we are half full (or is that half empty?).

Did anyone with a lowered Mini have a problem getting up their driveway to the upper parking lot?

I don't think anyone with a lowered MINI has ever tried. At least not that I can remember. The parking lot is gravel, and although they regrade and gravel it every year, it does have ruts and bumps. I would suggest speaking to them in advance about parking under the overhang - they usually reserve that spot for people loading/unloading but might make an exception if your MINI would be damaged by going up the hill (and down the hill)

We didn't have any issues last year getting Blooper up the hill, and he's dropped about an inch. Sputnik is a LOT lower We'll see how it goes.

There are a few parking spots across the road from the inn if you don't want to mess with the hill.

If your car can make it then I should have no issues. So I will wait for you to make the first climb

What time are you arriving?

I'm shooting for 3ish on Wednesday, but we always end up leaving later than I want to. Definitely on Wednesday, though

We're not even close to being ready!

I was in the process of listing everything we have to do, but it got to be too long and depressing

Jen, we left Blue Waters mostly intact for you! I hope the weather is as good for you next week as it was for us this week.

I'll let you all know when the Blue Waters Motoring Society badges are done. We're still trying to translate "Scones Kick Major ***!" into latin

For those of you that we had the pleasure of hanging at Blue Waters or other places with, we really had a great time. We'll probably still hang at Fontana for MOTD, but we really enjoyed the dinner and the rooms look fabulous. Definitely a place to consider if we decide to do a non-MOTD trip to the area. I'm still waiting to try those scones Terry...
