This 41 year old virgin...

... has been deflowered!

I think it's fitting that my 1000th NAM post comes to you live from the Robbinsville Microtel, where I'm recovering from motion sickness and a freakin' sore right elbow after slaying the Dragon 2 hours ago!!!

Getting old sucks!

Old guys who aren't "experienced" should be sure to do some special exercises before your big day... and bring some dramamine and advil, cause the old inner ear is getting sticky, and the old joints are getting creaky...

But my Papa's supreme pizza is settling the tummy - for now...

For you other Dragon Virgins out there, it's everything your buddies say it is - and more...

The Microtel is spartan, but clean and neat and relatively new.

A place to sleep and shower. Tiny rooms. But not like you're going to spend a lot of time here...

And, if you're from Japan, the rooms will seem H U G E !

Now that I realize even at 47 I can claim 'some' form of virginity I just may not go to MOTD5 after all.

Seriously....that was a ideal post!!

And the Dai Uy was a mere slip of a laddie on his first run (MOTD3), at age 60...
One motoring companion, Mighty Max The Wonder MINI-Wiener Dawg, was a pup of about 50 in dog years. The other companion remains ageless.

I know we were much younger than others there.

You're never too old!

The Dragon takes it's toll regardless of age. I was only 36 the first time I rode on the Dragon, mind you, only as a passenger, and I was shocked at how sore I was. We got seat belt locks from CG Locks the next year and that made it MUCH better!

I have never driven the Dragon, this year will be my first time! Alas, in a support vehicle and not a MINI a Mini VAN though! (a Honda Odyssey to carry all the casino party stuff, prizes etc.. )

Hmmm, am I still a Dragon virgin or does being a passenger count? Wooohoo! Three kids and still a virgin! Too cool! hee hee

Damn, I got ten years on you and will have to wait until next year to do the dragon! At least I already got my heavy bag out of the basement. Took me 2 days just to recover from bringing it up 4 steps.

So the CG Locks really help?

http://outmotoring.com/cg_lock.html

I wasn't planning on driving like a maniac so I figured I wouldn't need these, but now I'm not so sure. You think it's worth the $40 per passenger cost?

Congrats on taming the Dragon, Blimey!

CG locks really do help. They keep you from rattling around like a pinball, without the restriction of a harness.
I ended up getting a set, so a passenger could be comfy as well.

They are wonderful!

Been to the last 2 MOTDs, had the CG-Locks the second time and it made a world of difference.

You can get them directly from http://www.cg-lock.com/

If you use the discount code "PittStopMini" you will get a $5 discount!

(1) will cost you $36.95, (2) $70.50 ($35.25 ea.)

I concur, the CG-Locks are excellent value, and a huge improvement over just the standard seat belts.

I don't have mine my more, since I decided to go "all the way" (thread-related pun) and get Schroth harnesses!

The Schroths are definitely better than the CG-Locks (of course), but they are also a LOT more expensive, so CG-Locks are the best value for the money, without a doubt.

Yes, they help a LOT. If you decide to get one or a set, CG Locks gave us a $5.00 off coupon code for our Monte Carlo Night. You can use it whenever you want.

When you place your order at their website http://www.cg-lock.com/, just type in the code - PittStopMini - and you will save $5.00.

I was 32 (or 33, can't really remember) when I lost mine at the Miatas at the Gap event as my husband has a Miata. Yes, the first time I rode as a passenger, we had to stop 2x for me to get sick. The next year, I drove it in his car and HE almost got sick; we weren't the only ones either! The following years, I took Bonine (like Dramamine) and couldn't stop having fun! If you forget your supply, the drug store in Robbinsville is usually fully-stocked - gee, do you think they are waiting for Dragon people?!

Now, this year will be my virgin run with my MINI at age 37! MMMM...HMMM...can't wait for my first time! ;-)

Wow...

Do you usually get sick at amusement parks too? I'm just wondering since *I* never usually suffer from any sort of motion sickness...

That was as a passenger, not a driver!

Actually, yes, I do get "motion" sick BUT my husband NEVER does and he felt sick too. Driving definitely makes it MUCH better but I am still going to take the Bonine even when driving like I did before. Why risk it at all...sounds like Blimey was driving and felt similarly.
