Third Annual Cigar Sampling Salon

Jeff (welshmenwillnotyield) and I would like to invite everyone who enjoys cigars to come share some good smokes and good times with us at Fontana Village on Thursday, May 3, 2007, from 8:30 PM - ?

Let's get together on the porch of the Rec Hall after the Welcome Dinner to hang out, visit, and enjoy some good sticks. And we'd like to invite the aficionados to make it a nightly get-together after the scheduled meal events.

So, bring your favorite cigars and whatever you'd like to drink, such as beer, wine, port, scotch, etc., to enjoy with your MINI mates.

We plan to raffle/sell some items to raise money in support of the cure for Cerebral Palsy. Details to follow...

As usual, I have lots of cutters and matches, for those who need them.

If I go I might have to attend this! I have never smoked before. A cigar sounds like something I would like to try.

Thanks for the offer! I enjoy a good smoke at least once a week, and will definitely join you guys.

I'm on an A. Fuente kick right now; not sure what I'll be smoking then, but it will be mild to medium bodied and I'll bring some extras for those who want to join us.

Hey Clo... unless the Guys have something planned for that evening, I'll drop by to say "HI". I think I was on the porch across from you guys last year.. we were trying to get WI-FI that wasn't there the first night.

Can't wait for MOTD '07

Have you tried the Edge Lites, by Rocky Patel? Nice mild-medium cigar.

Clo, I have some of those pocket ashtrays left from last year. They are "disposable", but can be used over and over, as they have a flap to seal in the ash. They are heat/burn proof, too, so the smoker doesn't have to worry about getting burned.

As in previous years, I'll have a selection of cigars, plus some mild-medium Cubans, for any smokers who haven't tried them.

Thanks for the tip! Haven't found them locally, however, I did get back to Hoyo De Monterrey Excaliburs, another "nice easy" smoke at a good price.

I'll order the Rocky Patels off the Internet if need be, but prefer to support local tobacco shops...

I need to make sure I make it to the Welcome dinner & this gathering. If everybody brought a different bottle of single-malt scotch to sample, we would be set!

Ahhh...my Royal Grey compatriot. We'll probably have more than enough spirits on the porch to chase away the evening chill.

Jeff,
Looking forward to seeing you again. I will be bringing along (as usual) a tin of Arturo Fuente Cubanitos and a bottle of an interesting Highland Single Malt Scotch. Maybe two.

The site says that registration is open for the cigar sampling, but am having difficulities in actually registering. My honey used to manage a local cigar shop and I know he would love to chat and puff with new Mini friends. Let me know if I'm doing somthing wrong or if there is a glitch in the system. Thanks. We are soooo looking forward to our first MOTD.

There is a registration for the CSS, but it doesn't cost anything...we merely want to know who is interested on attending. We just want ya to come to the porch after the Welcome Dinner and have a good time! We ARE planning to offer a t-shirt, though, along with some other stuff to buy so that our charity, The United Cerebral Palsy Fund, can get some much-needed donations.

Jeff

Hey you guys...I registered, but only b/c I want to get a T-shirt, as woe is me, the wifey had a commitment moved to "that" Friday so I can't make it this year.

If you'll send me a note at the email address I provided, (Dave Shearer), I'll send you a check. If you only want to distribute T-shirts to those fortunate enough to attend, drop me a line anyway and I'll just send you a donation.

Hey, even if you cannot attend MOTD, you can still order a t-shirt to support our charity of choice, United Cerebral Palsy. One of our friends has a child with cerebral palsy, so we chose UCP as our cause for MOTD-2007. Here's the shirt:

You may purchase the shirt at our PayPal store. All net proceeds go to UCP.

Here are hi-res images:

This is the cigar label-type design for the pocket on the front of the tee.

This is the image on the back of the shirt.

Many thanks to COOPERation for his great designs!
