Lodge Rooms at Fontana

I hear talk about "Inn Rooms" at fontana, are these the same as rooms in the Lodge? I was able to book a Lodge Room for MOTD 07, it has to be better than where I was in Robbinsville this year. or so I hope.....after placing my reservation, I heard a rumor of only a common bathroom area for the Lodge...is this true, no bathroom in the individual rooms? Sounds like with the renovations, the lodge is supposed to be pretty nice, but some if anyone would care to share any details with me, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Jason

Wait a minute! Fontana's Lodge/Inn rooms are like hotel rooms, and each one has its own bathroom. They are a nice size and if not around the pool, each has a little deck.

At Tapoco Lodge (a different resort altogether), in their Lodge building, there are a few rooms that do share a bathroom.

Now...contrast and compare!

Oh ok... that's what I thought. We went in there a few times even though we didn't stay there and it looked pretty nice. I would guess it was quite different before the rennovations.

Well, even though Fontana's lodge rooms were a bit tired, they were always clean and comfortable. Now they've been freshened up with new paint and new beds and furniture. The new owners are really improving things!

Thank you for clearing this up! I figured the rumor I heard was only that, and I knew where to go to get a straight answer!
Thanks again!!!

You now have to request extra spiders. . . they are no longer complimentary in all of Fontana's rooms and cabins!

Jason and Jenn B, you said you made your reservations today at Fontana.I made ours last night and they said we got the last room at the lodge/inn. Methinks Fontana is not giving the straight poop. We was told only 2 cabins were left as of 7:30 pm 5/16/06.

But when you stop to consider the sort of use/abuse this tub must have endured over the past 20+ years, would you actually want to get in it?

Yes, this is perplexing. If you speak with Meredith or Brandy, they seem to have a better handle on things. Also, like has been mentioned many times in other threads, it is a very fluid situation, with rooms opening up, timeshares being released, cancellations happening, new cabins being installed! Don't give up hope...just keep calling and asking questions. You can get on a waitlist if there is a particular type of cabin/room you want, too.

At first I was told that there was one lodge room with one king bed available, when I said I would prefer two beds, she then asked "are you with the MINI Coopers?" when I said yes, she said, hold on, let me see... She said the computer let her reserve a two queen bed room under the MINIs, aparently they have some rooms reserved for us...she also informed me that our discount is 20%, sounds good to me!

Jason

P.s. this reservation was made at 8:30 this evening

I asked for a king and they said all they had was a single queen (bed) left. I took it. Said everything else was taken. I do have indoor plumbing.

Hahhaa... this is actually funny.

Well, we're waitlisted for a king and I really hope we get it, but it anyone gets stuck with one and would rather have two queens... I'll trade ya... haha

Same as it is every year, the first full weekend of May. In the case of 2007 it's May 3rd through the 6th.
