Again, not everyone is as willing to have their car molested by random overly enthusiastic socialites. Some people have respect for their property and the property of others. You of all people Michael, being a moderator on this forum, should have respect for other peoples morals and values.

I had my car VANDALISED this year with the MOTD 2006 dragon sticker, just like I had my car VANDALISED in 2004 with the Acutal Size sticker. If you think that term is extreme, perhaps you need to get reacquainted with the definition. Sticker on glass, or sledgehammer to sheetmetal, the principle is the same.

For all the biatchers...get over yourself

The sticker is nice looking & easy to remove if you don't like it. It's not like tagging has never happened in years past (so WARNING WARNING WARNING if you come next year your Mini may get tagged). If you don't want anything put on your precious Mini don't drive it to the Dragon. I mean it's kinda like going to the Dragon & then complaining that you don't like curvy roads

I have the decal on Bean. I really like it! It's in a different spot than usual. I'll post a photo when I have a chance. It's all in fun!

My thoughts on the subject:
  • If the stickers were applied on paint - that's wrong, and the owners would have every right to be upset. However, if the stickers were applied on glass (as they were), it's downright SILLY to get upset about a sticker that peels off immediately with no trace.
  • If you wanted the sticker under your wiper to place yourself, then that defeats the purpose of the "surprise". The sticker is FREE... so the manner in which you receive it, IF you get one at all, means that you don't have a say in HOW you get it (as long as there is no harm done, which, again, is not a problem on glass).
  • If you want to place a white dragon sticker in a particular place, buy one from Deal's Gap or elsewhere... or make your own like this very thoughtful and resourceful person did!
  • No, I didn't get tagged... but I wish I did!

Celeste, the purple classic Mini, got double tagged with the Dragon and an Actual Size too! I thought it a great game to figure out who tagged our British Open classic two years ago at the Dragon. This time I could say thanks. Glass only on all tags.

Man I didn't get tagged, but wish I had. I agree on the glass or the C-post would look great.

There's no reason to believe that I don't respect otheres morals or values. Again it's a non-permanent sticker, it's your choice either remove it and get on with your life... Or let ruin your life, your choice not mine.

I had my car VANDALISED this year with the MOTD 2006 dragon sticker, just like I had my car VANDALISED in 2004 with the Acutal Size sticker. So did you file a police report? Most people when their car is vandalized file a police report, and if necessary file an insurance claim to get the damage repaired. Since the principle is the same, did you contact Graham County Sheriff's Office and file a police report?

If my wife put a sticker with the winning lottery number on it on my MINI, I'd be pissed. It's my car, not anyone elses, mine! I don't even put parking decals on it, I put them inside the window.
Suppose for a moment that you find a sticker on your car. You say to yourself, "Hey, thats cool, a Dragon sticker! I think I'd like it better on the other side of the bumber." You get your razor knife out, or whatever tool you feel is appropriate, and begin to carefully peel it off, but your hand slips and you knick your pristine paint. Or you get out the goo gone and use it to loosen the glue. Now the sticker is off, but you've got to wash the bumper and then re-wax it. Why? Cause some bonehead thought it would be cool to sticker all the MINI's. Why take the chance you're going to p-- someone off, just slide it under the windshield wiper, its much less intrusive, much less time consuming, and everyone is happier!

if you are dumb enough to use goo-gone or an exacto blade to remove it....you desrve whatever damage you get....

Removing vinyl (especially on a window) only requires a hair dryer (or leaving your car out in the sun) and some fingers....

Considering that the sticker on the glass, you don't even need a hair dryer. A plastic spatula, maybe even a credit card will do. A Lil'Chizler costs 50 cents or less and they easily remove vinyl.

van·dal·ism Pronunciation Key (vndl-zm)
n.
Willful or malicious destruction of public or private property.

--------------

I'd say that since there was no damage or destruction (the sticker was on the glass, right?) then there was no vandalism.

You might consider putting a sticker that says "No stickers please" on your window. The irony would be awesome.

I discovered my 'tag' during the Midnight Run while parked at Tabcat Bridge. For an instant I thought I was getting into someone else's car!

I guess my fall from that big rock after taking pictures didnt help the recognition factor either.

I still have my '04 tag. It's held up better than most of the other stickers I had on the car. I didnt mind the surprise at all, it was obviously meant well and care was taken to apply the sticker. I was actually asked by the guy working an Arby's drive-thru window what it meant. I'm keeping it.

Most are missing the point here . It’s simple, people have very different opinions about being tagged, all of which should be RESPECTED. It’s DIS-RESPECTFUL to apply your opinions on others.

Personally I’m not for it and find it DIS-RESPECTFUL to my property, but at least the tagger is doing it right by putting it on the window. The 06 Dragon sticker was easy to remove, but the ACTUAL SIZE sticker in 04 was NOT at all.

You simply should not mess with other peoples Minis!! However some get a kick out of being tagged, so I will RESPECTED that and won’t complain if I get tagged in 07, as long as it’s easy to remove.

Sounds to me like there are a number of people that went to the wrong
event. It seems they meant to go to BMWs at Palm Beach and somehow
ended up at a fun event instead.

Honestly people, no harm was done to anyone's car. If you don't like
having someone leave you a nice gift, I bet you're great fun on Christmas
morning. Next time either put a car cover on your car or stay home.

I find it hilarious that simply because some of us (yes, me!) are opposed to coming up to our MINIs and finding something afixed to it, we are told that we are unwelcome/have gone to the wrong event. Perhaps next year I'll take to throwing slices of salami on peoples windows. Hey.. if it makes me and my friends happy... and we get a good laugh... and its only applied to the windows... then its all in good fun!!, right?
