I'll end it with this photo. I had so many decals on my MINI and no room on the rear side glass. I'd say that this person has total respect for MINIs!

While I appreciate the thought and spirit of doing this, I didn't much care for it on my car. I choose the modifications and decorations carefully to represent my personality and style.

I let the guy do it (I saw him rubbing the vinyl on), but immediately took it off. Honestly, it looks more like a drunk duck than a dragon. If it had been attractive, I might have left it on for a while...

I like mine. I think I'll keep it there for a while.
Why yes, yes it was -- and I kept hoping that the tagger would drive by, see your fantastic vinyl, see NO fantastic vinyl on mine, take pity, stop and apply my very own dragon. Alas, it was not to be... I'm trying very hard not to take it personally

From my own hazed memory, I think you were tagged before I got there... I think... Perhaps if I have just a little more tequila my memory will be jogged...

(glad you guys made it home safe, by the way )

OMG - get over yourselves... I was totally PSYCHED to get the dragon sticker (vinyl that can be removed without a trace) since I missed the 'Actual Size' tag way back when. I bought several other stickers to go with it. If this is the worst thing in your life, fall to your knees and thank a higher power.

You are in the minority on the opinion of the coolness of the decal but glad to see you didn't whine like a t*tty baby about getting tagged

Can I put in a request to be vandalised next year? I'll be at cabin 457. Or was it 547? Anyway. The cabin up the hill from the old firestation. BRG/B. I'll leave the light on for you.

Well, maybe next year, since the people who wanted tags are in the majority, if you don't want to be tagged just leave a little card under your windshield wiper that says "please do not tag me, thanks". MINI owners are pretty much good people and I doubt anyone would go against your wishes if you asked. Other than that, just pack a razor blade and some window cleaner and take it off as soon as you see it if you do not like.

My note would say "please do not tag me unless the sticker is black or red and only on my glass but if it's another color please leave the sticker under my wiper so I can use it elsewhere cause it's cool, thanks and stuff"

From what I have read people who didn't want to be tagged are in the minority. I would say the majority wanted to be tagged

Oops.. should have read before I clicked "post". I meant "majority" which should be at least halfway obvious by the rest of my post. Since people who don't want are fewer than do wants, they could leave a note if they really felt that strongly about it.

Sarcux, who has probably the most stickers (other than race car graphics) on his Sprog has an awesome sticker on the hatch window: "I HATE STICKERS"

MINISQL is taking too much heat

I think the people trashing MINISQL are the ones being childish. He is just saying that its personal property and one shouldn't mess with others property. Simple as that. Obviously there are more people responding to this thread saying they either 1)Happy they got tagged or 2)Sad that they didn't get tagged. Thats cool if you feel this way, I respect your opinion. I also get the fact that this specific situation probably is not worthy of 160+ responses. I think the larger view is that if isn't yours, you should ask permission to before you 'enhance' someones car. Sorry that it messes with the spontaneous objective, but this is how I feel.

As do I. I think a few people with the minority opinion were being treated unfairly. People were piling on. I would think that one could have a dissenting opinion and still treat others with respect. Stopping my 'whining' now.

All that we (referring to the organizers) can do is:
  1. Make people aware of the "mystery tagging" tradition, letting people know that it could happen to you too...
  2. Make razor blades and/or windex & paper towels available for those who find themselves tagged and don't like it.
As far as putting a stop to it, there's no way we can, nor do we particularly want to anyway, since it's all in good, clean, simple fun.

Putting one under the windshield wiper would go against the whole POINT of mystery tagging, so I personally think it's a silly idea. Might as well just buy your own decals & stickers and put them on. If you want one of the "special mystery tags" then you don't get a say in where it gets placed... only whether it stays on or not afterwards.

Are we still discussing this crap?

Don't you have better things to do?

I finally SAW the person doing it this year, and though now I have to be careful with my windows when I take em out for paint to PRESERVE MY CHERISHED LITTLE STICKERS, I am happy to have them and hope to see something likewise small, cute, funny, whatever next year. Those that don't like it well go get an inflatable bubble for your MINI.
