Today's silly question

What is the situation with the police in these parts? I can't imagine they would look the other way just because we (I will) have cool rides

First of all go to www.tailofthedragon.com they give police reports. Second of all riding on the dragon there is no way the cops can wait on the side of the road. Speeding on the dragon is not really that fast. I'm going to try to go an will reset my avg speed calculator, I bet it doesn't top 35.

Cops really can't get to aggressive the road is the tourist draw. Certainly not downtown Robbinsville.

Now instead of glowsticks how about we all get neon under cars..

They weren't really out last year while we are there. However, they were out in force during the Miata event in July. They're not really on US-129 for speed enforcement, they are there to make sure people don't get stupid...

In other words, don't cross those double yellows unless you know there's nobody around for miles... From what I understand the bikers and the Miatas who were doing this were the ones that got pulled over.

Down there it's not going to be your car that will attract the attention of the local law, but your driving...

Now instead of glowsticks how about we all get neon under cars..

Maybe your car, but not mine!

i figured that i would post this now since the subject came up yesterday
btw: do you guys think we should come up with a better name for the Midnight run?
also: night time glowing thingy's are encouraged
I was just wondering if it should be called "THE TRIPLE 'M'" -

MIDNIGHT MINI MOTORING

It could also be referred to as Mini Madness at Midnight!!

OR Mayhem in MINIs at Midnight!!

The possibilities are endless!!!!

Ack! You mess with tradition at your own risk, Jolly!

:smile:I'd like to remind everyone that the Dragon is unforgiving enough during daylight...at night, it requires very attentive driving! Mayhem is NOT required nor recommended!

As for law enforcement, it seemed like the cops only patrolled twice a day, to check for break-downs or whatever. They were VERY cool. I got the feeling that the local chamber of commerce told them we were bringing lots of revenue, anyway, so to be kind to the "cute lil MINIs!"

We might want to be careful. No one wants to see Ryan's Mom or Minzilla in their PJs.

However, if you wish....it is a public road, who could stop you.

Kool, what do you think? A PJ contest????

Hugs,
PB

Now, here's the beauty of being a newcomer - I don't know what would be wrong with the above two in their PJs, unless they purchase same from Frederick's! Anyhow, I just thought it would be sorta fun - the kinda thing we Nuts might do - and I love my MINI slippers so much that it would be great to have an occasion to wear them in public (but would remove slippers for the actual driving!!). - -
