Are you Interested in: Get Painted!!!

In planning and organizing, I've come across some neat ideas for activities that don't involve the MINI.

Who's up for Paintball?

Anyone ever wanted to take their frustration about the changes to the site or posting a photo on Mark or one of our esteemed mods? Well, who says you can't "shoot" 'em? Not, really shoot them....perhaps cover them in paint?

If you are interested, I'll plan it. Just let me know if you'd like to join me in a little game of paintball?

Hugs,
PB

PS. I promise no MINIs will be harmed in the making of paintball war. However, I will not make the same promise of any offending SUVs.

This may be fun. Is there a field nearby? Wife and I both have equipment if it'll just be in the woods. Been a while since I got that thing out. I guess I'll have one more thing to get reeady and tune up before the run in 05.

I don't yet have the details yet; but the Fontana does have a field. I'll make a note that you have your own equiptment when I get pricing and such. Glad to see someone would be interested.

PB

Hey kids, I think there might be an even better option than paintball guns....

There's a new LazerTag game system out now, just saw them for sale at Target tonight.... Costs about $80 for two complete sets. Two guns, goggles, and radios. The goggles have a head's up display that tells you when you have someone in your sights, as well as a warning of when you are in someone else's sights. The radio's are 900hz jobs and let the people on your team stay in contact.

I am thinking this is a cheaper way to do it, as well as not having the temptation of shooting non-players (or cars) with paintballs. Not to mention the possibility of driveby lazertag gang wars....

I am most definitely IN on this one.... anybody want to join team Gruntled?

Actually I think this would be fun when the paintball isn't being offered... Who knows we could have a mass lasering at a dinner one night!

As for collateral damage from paintballs, it shouldn't be an issue... Fontana has it's own area and given what we all think of our MINIs, it would be a SERIOUS party foul if one was shot!

I’m kind of thinking if they make Electric Blue paint ***** I could have some fun doing some touch up work on my MCS.

Sleep? Bwahahahahahahaha!! Nope...not much sleeping will be done at the Dragon!

Hey, if any paintballs are black, aim 'em at Wanda's bonnet! She could definitely use some touch-up from all her roadtrips!

I will NOT participate in this activity....I will head for the hills...LOL! But I would like to be an honorary member of Team Gruntled!!! Such a cool name!

If it's like the last couple rallys it should go something like this -

Thursday everyone rolls in. Usually some kind of welcome dinner or party, but a laid back evening for those who had a long drive getting there.

Friday is Dragon day, most of the drives on Deal's Gap really fly as traffic is lighter than it will be on saturday.

Saturday tends to be for misc events... Last year we went to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, this year there was a train ride, TimeDistanceSpeed event, whitewater rafting, etc.... Lady In Red and I chose this day to drive to Gatlinburg and back.

Sunday the event tends to start breaking up as people head back to the real world.

Of course many come early and stay late, nothing is set in stone yet I think.

Since this is just a really really big informal gathering of people, and is NOT sponsored by anybody, the rules and events are totally up to those participating. Anyone can come up with ideas of their own as to things to do....

One of the coolest this year was KoolMINI's idea to drive the dragon at midnight under the full moon, which was expected to only draw a few hardcore drivers.... turns out there were a lot more hardcore drivers than expected and LOTS of people turned out for it.

Anyway, gotta call and reserve my room for next year.

Paintball, hmmmm...laser tag sounds awesome!!!! Team Gruntle sounds great! Although I thought I had the evil Bwahahahahahahaha laugh ! Well, I have it for our Carolina group and the Haunted Run we are doing for halloween!

I may be up for laser tag though! Drive by MINI shootings would be awesome! Some of my MINI buddies here better be careful!!! I shoot to kill, well, at least get the alarms going off!! OOOHHH, I can put my military training to the test now, although I've been out for 10 years!

Although if there is black, just aim for where the birds have used my MCS as target practice and left marks even after washing it! Evil, Evil birds!

Yes and no....actually, there are a few things that have been set up and LOTS more in the works.

However, there is in fact a sponsor this year. North American Motoring is sponsoring the Dragon Event and DC Metro MINIs is hosting it. I say this because there will in fact be more organization than the previous years (promise, no one is running down the halls with bull horns); but this is an event that you get out of it what you want. If you want to attend dinner and go play on your own....I won't stop you or force you into a schedule. If you want to look of the calendar (that will be published) and be a part of bunches of things...please join us. While this will continue to be a grassroots events, meaning organized and coming from the MINI community. It is growing to the point that people are looking for some organization and activities -- for this we need support and NAM is our support. It is NAM that will get our vendors out and work with us to make the 3rd one the best thus far!

Back to paintball.....as I said, no one's car will be harmed in paintball....but I'll work on pulling it together.

Hugs,
PB

Yes, I'm sure the tech has improved since you were in college....hmmm, I don't think they are using radio-active lasers anymore and they don't score with an abacus and that don't play it with laser pointers either.

Teehee.

What about a game of Flash light tag at night?

Don't worry, you won't be able to see her --- from what I understand, Ryan's mom blocks all sunlight. She's like a walking total eclispe.

My eyes....they BURN.......these goggles are useless......URGH...........
